Bike Transport in Gurgaon (Gurugram)
Moving to another city, sending a scooty home, or shifting a motorcycle across NCR? BikeShift Gurgaon arranges collection, packing and transport for scooters, motorcycles and electric two-wheelers from Gurgaon to other cities. We also handle assessed local moves within Gurgaon and across Delhi NCR. We plan each job around both ends: where the bike is parked today and where it has to be received. Then we give you an itemised scope and a condition record at handover, so you know what you are paying for and what state the bike was in when it left.
- Intercity, indicative: about ₹2,200–₹3,600 for a scooter and ₹2,800–₹3,500 for a commuter bike to Jaipur, and ₹5,000–₹6,200 for a commuter motorcycle to Bangalore. Heavier and premium bikes sit in higher bands.
- Local and NCR: common short moves are usually estimated between roughly ₹1,800 and ₹4,500.
- Timing: pickup, dispatch and delivery are different dates. Plan another way to commute for your first few days at the destination.
- For an accurate quote: send the exact model and variant, both addresses with pin codes, where the bike is parked, whether it runs, and your preferred dates.

Transit days count from the day the carrier departs, not from the pickup date. Collection, waiting for carrier space and the final delivery appointment are separate. Confirm all these dates before booking; the section on dates below explains the difference.
What the bands assume, and what to confirm in writing
Each band assumes:
- one running two-wheeler;
- packing suited to its category;
- collection from a normally accessible Gurgaon address;
- delivery to an accessible address within the main city area named.
Anything outside that is quoted on its own line. Before you confirm, check that the written quote says plainly whether each of these is included:
- GST, and how it will appear on the invoice;
- transit cover: the declared value, the premium and the main exclusions;
- a crate, frame or dedicated slot for a premium bike;
- a basement roll-out, a long push to the gate or extra hands;
- loading equipment or extra handling for a non-running bike;
- holding or storage if delivery has to wait;
- a second delivery attempt if nobody is available to receive the bike;
- delivery to a suburb, satellite town or address outside city limits;
- a fixed pickup slot on a specific day.
Cross-check a quote against published market ranges
Price guides published in 2026 for bike transport from Gurgaon broadly fall into the distance bands below. Each guide assumes a different scope; some leave out doorstep legs or cover. Use them as a sanity check, not as anyone's tariff, ours included.
| Road distance | Commonly published range | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 450 km | ₹2,000 – ₹3,500 | On short routes, the doorstep legs and waiting for a carrier make up much of the cost. |
| 450 – 899 km | ₹2,500 – ₹4,500 | The model and access at both ends start to matter as much as distance. |
| 900 – 1,499 km | ₹4,000 – ₹8,500 | The wide spread reflects scope: packing, cover and doorstep service differ. |
| 1,500 – 2,200 km | ₹5,000 – ₹10,500 | Long-haul routes; heavy and premium bikes sit near the top. |
| Long-route comparison, with specialist handling assessed separately | One published long-route guide spans ₹6,500–₹13,500; specialist handling can exceed this | Crating, special loading or delivery far from the city centre. |
If a quote is well below these ranges, ask what has been left out. If it is well above, ask what the extra pays for.
Why the exact model matters more than CC
Engine size is a rough shortcut. The quote really depends on three things about the bike:
- Weight decides how many people are needed to push and load it.
- Dimensions decide how much carrier space it takes.
- Bodywork and accessories decide how much protection it needs.
Some examples:
- A 350cc adventure bike with crash bars, a tall screen and pannier frames is a different job from a 350cc roadster.
- A large premium scooter with wide panels can need more care than a small commuter motorcycle.
- A faired 300cc sports bike may need more attention than a heavier naked bike.
Give us the make, model, variant and any fitted accessories. "Royal Enfield" or "KTM" on its own covers bikes that are quoted quite differently.
Local bike shifting in Gurgaon and across Delhi NCR
A local move is a different product from intercity transport. There is no long-haul carrier to wait for. The job is usually one loading vehicle, a crew and a scheduled slot. The main cost drivers are access at each end, the distance between the two points and any waiting time. Common short moves are estimated roughly between ₹1,800 and ₹4,500. The exact pin codes, the model and its handling needs decide where your move falls.
| Move | Typical example | What moves the estimate up or down |
|---|---|---|
| Within Gurgaon | Palam Vihar house to a Dwarka Expressway society | Basement levels at either end, gate-pass timing, how far the bike must be pushed |
| Gurgaon to Delhi | Sector 56 to South Delhi or Dwarka | Distance across the city, the time window for the slot, parking at the delivery address |
| Gurgaon to Noida or Ghaziabad | Golf Course Road to a Noida sector | One of the longest common NCR legs; time on the road and the crew's return trip |
| Gurgaon to Faridabad | Sohna Road to a Faridabad sector | Access at the delivery address and whether you need a fixed time |
| Manesar at either end | IMT Manesar to Sector 49 | Extra distance from central Gurgaon; a flexible slot usually costs less than a fixed one |
| Non-running bike to a workshop | Sector 15 home to a service centre | Whether the wheels roll and brakes work, the loading equipment needed, the workshop's receiving hours |
Short local moves are not always packed to long-haul standard by default. If you want full packing, say so, for example for a premium bike going into storage.
Gurgaon pickup areas: what your address changes
Pickup conditions in Gurgaon can be completely different a few kilometres apart. We don't assume one set of rules for the whole city. We ask the questions that apply to your type of address. Below are the patterns that most often change collection, price or receiving. If your address doesn't fit any of them, send us the details and we will tell you what we need to know.
DLF Cyber City and Udyog Vihar: office parking pickups
Many people moving for a job want the bike collected from office parking on their last working day. Commercial buildings usually control which vehicles can leave. Check three things before the day:
- who in facilities management has to approve releasing the bike;
- whether an outside loading vehicle can enter or must wait on the service road;
- which hours avoid peak traffic.
If you won't be present, name the colleague who will hand over the keys and sign the condition record. A pickup from home after office hours can be simpler than a weekday exit from office parking, so it is worth comparing the two.
Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension and Sohna Road: high-rise gates and basements
Large societies along these roads often need a gate pass or move-out approval, and some allow loading only at set hours. The rules differ from one society to the next. Tell us:
- which basement level the bike is on;
- whether outside vehicles are allowed in;
- where security will let a loading vehicle stop.
If loading has to happen outside the gate, the bike must be rolled up the ramp and out. That changes the crew size and the time needed. Speak to your maintenance office a few days before pickup, not on the morning itself.
Palam Vihar and older sectors such as 14 and 15: lanes and street parking
Independent houses and older lanes rarely involve gate passes. They can, however, have tight turns, parked cars on both sides and very little stopping space. Tell us:
- the nearest point where a loading vehicle can stand;
- roughly how far that is from the bike;
- whether there are steps or a raised plinth in between.
A short push to a wider road is routine. A long one through a busy lane may need a second person, and that should be in the quote rather than a surprise on the day.
New Gurgaon, Dwarka Expressway sectors and Manesar: newer and outer endpoints
In New Gurgaon and the Dwarka Expressway sectors, approach roads, gate numbers and tower layouts can confuse a driver visiting for the first time. A dropped pin, the correct gate and a landmark save a lot of time on the day.
Manesar, whether an IMT industrial unit or a residential area, is far enough from central Gurgaon to be scheduled as its own pickup endpoint. Mention it at the start rather than simply writing "Gurgaon", so the estimate and the slot are realistic.
Gurgaon pickup access worksheet
Answer these points before you ask for a quote, or send them on WhatsApp. Each answer removes a guess that could otherwise change the price or delay the pickup. Use the same list for the delivery address.
| Check | What to tell us | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Where the bike is parked | Basement level, open parking, office building or street | Decides crew size and time on site |
| Vehicle entry and clearance | Whether an outside loading vehicle may enter, and any height barrier you know of | Decides whether the bike is loaded inside or rolled out |
| Rolling route | Rough distance from the parking slot to the loading point; any steps, kerbs or narrow gates | Longer or awkward pushes need more hands and time |
| Ramps and turns | Steep ramps, tight turns, speed breakers on the way out | Heavy bikes need a controlled push, sometimes by two people |
| Permitted stopping point | Where security allows a loading vehicle to stand, and for how long | Avoids having to reposition the vehicle after arrival |
| Gate pass and hours | Who approves it and the permitted loading hours | Sets a pickup slot that will actually work |
| Who releases the bike | Name and phone number of the person who will be present | The condition record needs a named person to sign it |
| Keys and locks | Number of keys; any steering or disc lock; keyless fob or app lock on an EV | A locked bike can't be moved if the key or app is elsewhere |
| Bike condition | Running or not, flat tyre, warning lights, any recent fall or accident | Affects acceptance, equipment and price |
| Receiving end | The same details for the delivery address, plus who will receive the bike | Prevents failed deliveries and holding charges |
Popular interstate bike transport routes from Gurgaon
Routes to the west and south usually leave Gurgaon along the NH-48 corridor. The actual path, halts and any transfer points are decided by the carrier and are not a fixed itinerary. For you, the receiving end usually matters more than the route itself.
Southern and western metros
Bangalore and Hyderabad. Bike transport to Bengaluru and two-wheeler shifting to Hyderabad or Secunderabad are mostly job relocations into large apartment complexes. The gate pass at the destination matters as much as the one in Gurgaon.
Chennai. When moving a bike to Chennai, give the exact locality. The city spreads a long way along its main corridors, and that affects the delivery leg.
Mumbai and Pune. For Mumbai bike shifting or sending a motorcycle to Pune or PCMC, say which area the delivery is in. Thane, Navi Mumbai and PCMC are different deliveries from central Mumbai or Pune. Many housing societies there also allow vehicle entry only at fixed hours.
Eastern and Uttar Pradesh routes
Kolkata. For Kolkata deliveries, say which side of the city the address is on. Salt Lake, New Town, Howrah and south Kolkata are separate endpoints.
Lucknow. Sending a scooty or bike home to Lucknow is common for families. If a parent will receive it, name them on the booking and share the pickup condition photos with them in advance.
Shorter northern routes
Jaipur, Chandigarh, Mohali or Panchkula and Dehradun are short distances. Even so, the bike may wait after pickup for a carrier going that way, so a short distance does not guarantee next-day delivery. For Dehradun, tell us if the address is outside the city towards the hills, because that leg is assessed separately.
For Ahmedabad receiving areas and model-wise planning, see the route guide. For Patna, Danapur and Bihta receiving plans, use the Patna route guide. The Goa destination and stay-planning guide explains Panaji, Mapusa, Margao and other assessed receiving points. Other destinations are quoted on request.
Moving two bikes or sending one with your household goods
List each bike separately when asking for a combined quote: model, running condition, accessories and the person receiving it. Ask whether both bikes will use the same carrier and delivery appointment. A shared pickup does not automatically mean a lower price or a single delivery.
If another company is moving your furniture, decide who is responsible for the bike before either booking is confirmed. Compare the bike's loading arrangement, condition record, cover and delivery date in both options. The bike should appear on the agreed inventory; it should not be treated as an unlisted extra among the cartons.
Two-wheeler transport services we arrange
Many people search for a bike parcel service in Gurugram or compare bike courier charges in Gurgaon. Usually what they need is someone to collect the bike, protect it, carry it and hand it over at the other end, without the owner travelling with it. That is what we arrange by road. Sending a bike as a railway parcel is a different service, compared further down this page.
- Intercity bike transport. Door to door from Gurgaon to metros, state capitals and home towns, subject to vehicle access. Agree a nearby handover point before booking if the loading vehicle cannot reach your parking.
- Local bike pickup and NCR shifting. Within Gurgaon, and to Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, priced from both addresses.
- Scooty transport in Gurgaon. Including family scooters going to a parent or a student in another city.
- Motorcycle shifting. For commuter, 350cc-class and heavier touring bikes, with handling planned around the bike's weight.
- Premium, sports and imported motorcycles. Assessed for protection, loading method and cover before we accept the booking.
- Electric scooters and motorcycles. Accepted after checking the exact model against the manufacturer's guidance and the carrier's rules.
- Non-running, project and modified bikes. Assessed for rolling, steering and braking before we confirm.
- Two-address coordination. For when the sender and receiver are different people, or the bike moves before or after you do.
Covered transport, a dedicated slot or a crate?
These describe different parts of a bike move. A covered vehicle protects the load from direct weather exposure; a crate or frame protects an individual bike. Neither replaces suitable padding and secure loading. Ask what is actually being quoted rather than relying on the word “container”.
- Shared or dedicated space: ask whether other goods travel alongside the bike, how contact with them is prevented and whether your quoted slot is reserved.
- Crate or frame: check whether one is needed for your model, who supplies it, its extra cost and who removes it at delivery. A crate also needs room and handling equipment at the receiving point.
- Transfers: ask whether the bike changes vehicles, who handles each transfer and whether the agreed packing stays in place.
- Local pickup vehicle: check whether its protection differs from the long-distance carrier, especially if either doorstep leg uses a smaller vehicle.
Share photos of wide mirrors, panniers, a tall screen, crash bars or low fairings. The proposed loading and securing method should suit those fittings and the manufacturer's handling guidance. Confirm the arrangement and any chosen transit cover in writing before paying.
Packing and loading planned for your bike
No single packing recipe suits every two-wheeler. Packing has three jobs:
- stop painted and fragile parts rubbing against anything;
- protect levers and mirrors from knocks;
- keep the bike stable while it is carried.
What that takes depends on the model, its accessories and the route.
| Bike type | Parts that need most attention | What we check before confirming |
|---|---|---|
| Scooters (Activa, Jupiter, Access type) | Body panels, front apron, floorboard edges, mirrors | Top box, aftermarket floor mats, scratches already on the panels |
| Commuter motorcycles | Fuel tank, side panels, levers, mirrors, indicators | Crash guards, saree guard, tank pad or cover |
| 350cc-class roadsters, cruisers and adventure bikes | Chrome, exhaust, tank, crash bars, screens, pannier frames | Weight, how the bike will be pushed and loaded, whether luggage frames come off |
| Sports and faired bikes | Fairings, windscreen, clip-on bars, lever ends, rear-set footpegs | Low ground clearance on ramps; how the bike is stabilised without stressing the fairings |
| Large premium and imported bikes | Paintwork, electronics, screens, aftermarket parts | Whether a crate, frame or dedicated slot is needed; the declared value for cover |
| Electric scooters and motorcycles | Body panels, display, charging port | Acceptance of the exact model, battery condition, the manufacturer's transport guidance |
| Non-running or modified bikes | Depends on the fault or modification | Rolling, steering, brakes, tyre condition, loading equipment |
Before pickup:
- Remove the loose items you want to keep: tank bags, phone mounts, top-box contents and tools under the seat.
- Don't put a helmet, riding jacket or bag with the bike unless it is listed on the condition record and accepted for carriage.
- Mirrors may be folded, wrapped or removed. Any part that is detached should be written down along with where it has been packed.
Electric two-wheelers
EV acceptance is decided model by model. Share:
- the exact make, model and variant;
- whether the battery is fixed or removable;
- any history of warning lights, swelling, water exposure or battery damage.
Preparation follows the manufacturer's guidance and the carrier's rules for that model. Do not open, remove or deliberately drain the battery yourself. If the charger is travelling, list it separately on the condition record.
Petrol bikes and fuel
Road carriers set their own fuel limits, so we confirm the current instruction for your booking. If a low tank is required, the simplest way is to plan your last few rides so the tank runs low naturally. Never siphon, drain or vent petrol yourself in a basement or parking area.
How bike transport from Gurgaon works, step by step
- Share the details. Send the model and variant, both addresses with pin codes, where the bike is parked, its condition, your preferred pickup date and the date you need it at the destination.
- Get a written scope. We confirm the band for your category, what is included, what would be extra, and the expected dispatch and delivery window.
- Confirm access at both ends. Agree the gate pass, loading hours and stopping point, and give the names of the person releasing the bike and the person receiving it.
- Prepare the bike. Leave fuel or battery as instructed for your model, remove loose items, keep the keys together and have the document copies ready.
- Pickup and condition record. The bike is inspected and photographed with you or your authorised person present. Existing marks and the odometer reading are noted, the keys are counted and the record is signed. Only then is it packed and loaded.
- Dispatch. You get confirmation when the bike leaves on its carrier, which may be after the pickup date.
- Delivery booking. Before arrival, the receiver confirms the address, access arrangements and a time window.
- Inspection and sign-off. The bike is unwrapped and checked against the pickup record before the receiver signs.
Pickup, dispatch and delivery: plan for four different dates
A common surprise is assuming the bike leaves Gurgaon on the day it is collected. On intercity bookings there are usually four separate dates:
- Pickup date: when the bike leaves your parking.
- Consolidation: the time the bike may wait at a handover point until a carrier heading your way has space.
- Dispatch: when that carrier actually departs.
- Delivery: when the bike reaches the address and someone is available to receive it.
Ask for all four in your quote. The transit days in the price table start from dispatch, not from pickup.
Plan your first commute without the bike
If you join a new job on a Monday, don't plan to ride there. Keep a fallback for at least the first few days, such as the metro, an office cab, a rental or a lift from a colleague. Treat the bike arriving early in its delivery window as a bonus. Students moving into hostels and families relocating with school-going children can plan the same way.
When delivery and your arrival don't line up
If you leave Gurgaon after the bike, or reach the destination before it, you have three options:
- schedule the pickup later, so delivery follows your arrival;
- name a receiver at the destination;
- ask for the bike to be held.
Holding must be agreed in writing before pickup. The agreement should cover where the bike will be kept, how it will be protected, the daily charge, the date charges start and who is allowed to collect it. The first two options usually cost less.
Bike transport by train or by road from Gurugram
Rail can be the right choice, especially if you are taking the same train or can handle the station work yourself. The real difference is who does what. A railway charge covers carriage from one station to another. A road quote usually covers door to door. Compare the whole job, not just the freight figure.
| Task | Road, door to door | Rail parcel (bike travels alone) | Rail luggage (with your journey) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Getting the bike moving | Collected at the agreed accessible point at or near your address | You take it to the booking station | You take it to your departure station before the train leaves |
| Station work | None for you | Booking, paperwork and waiting at the parcel office | Booking against your journey ticket |
| Acceptance | Model and access assessed at quote stage | Depends on what that station currently accepts; confirm before you go | Same, plus your train and journey details |
| Fuel | As instructed by the carrier for your model | Tank must be empty; ask the station how this is handled there | Tank must be empty, as for parcel |
| Packing | Arranged as part of the booking | Arranged and paid for by you | Arranged and paid for by you |
| Which train | Not applicable | May travel on a different train and day from you | Travels on your train |
| At the destination | Delivered to the agreed accessible point at or near the receiving address | You collect it from the station and get it home | You collect it after arrival and get it home |
| Best suited to | Owners who aren't travelling with the bike or can't spare time for station work | Flexible owners near a station that accepts two-wheelers | Owners on the same journey who can handle both stations |
Not every station accepts two-wheeler bookings at all times, and acceptance can change. Check with the station you plan to use rather than assuming the nearest one handles bikes. Neither mode is automatically safer. The outcome depends on packing, handling and the records kept at each handover.
Condition and key handover checklist
At pickup
- Photograph all four sides, the tank top, both mirrors and the instrument cluster showing the odometer. Take close-ups of every existing scratch or dent.
- Record a short walk-around video. It takes a minute and is easier to compare later.
- Make sure existing marks are written on the condition record, not just photographed.
- Note the number of keys handed over and who keeps the spare. For keyless or app-locked bikes, write down how the bike will be unlocked at delivery.
- List any removed parts, such as mirrors, a screen or a top box, and where each is packed.
- List every accessory travelling with the bike. Remove everything else.
- Note the fuel or battery level as instructed.
- Write down the consignment or booking number, the pickup date, and the names and phone numbers of the sender and receiver.
- Keep a copy of the signed record on your phone before the bike is loaded.
At delivery
- Unpack with the delivery person present, in daylight or good light.
- Compare the bike with the pickup photos panel by panel. Check the levers, lights, indicators, footpegs and exhaust.
- Check the odometer against the reading on the pickup record.
- Confirm that the keys, any removed parts and the listed accessories have all arrived.
- Check the tyres, and make sure the bike rolls and steers normally before you start it.
- Write any problem on the delivery record before signing, photograph it and keep a copy.
- Keep the pickup record, delivery record, invoice and photos until any issue is fully closed.
Worked example: a hypothetical Gurgaon to Bangalore budget
This is an illustrative planning scenario that shows how to build a budget. It is not an invoice, a completed move or a customer review, and the example amounts are not quotes.
Scenario: a 150cc-class commuter motorcycle parked on the second basement level of a Golf Course Extension Road society, moving to an apartment in Bangalore. The owner flies out two days after pickup and starts work on the Monday after arriving.
| Item | Example amount | What would change it |
|---|---|---|
| Carriage in the commuter band, with standard packing, doorstep pickup and delivery | ₹5,700 | Exact model, delivery locality, dates |
| Basement roll-out with an extra person, if the quote treats it as extra | ₹300 | Ramp, distance to the gate, whether loading inside is allowed |
| Transit cover on a declared value of ₹75,000 (example figure only) | ₹700 | The policy, the declared value, the exclusions |
| GST | As shown on the invoice | Not assumed here; check how your quote shows it |
| Holding at the destination if nobody can receive the bike for three days (example ₹150 a day) | ₹450, or ₹0 if avoided | Naming a receiver or timing delivery after arrival |
| Fallback commute for the first four working days (example ₹300 a day) | ₹1,200 | Distance to the office, metro access, office cab availability |
In this example, the provider's charges come to ₹6,700 plus GST as invoiced, or ₹7,150 if holding is needed. Adding the fallback commute, the owner's real budget for moving the bike is about ₹7,900 to ₹8,350 plus GST. The lesson is that timing and access can add as much as the gap between two similar quotes.
How to compare bike transport quotes
| What to compare | Ask for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Pickup and delivery address types, basement or floor level, doorstep at both ends or not | A low figure may assume easy access or a yard handover |
| Bike details | Model and variant written on the quote | A quote for "a bike" can change at pickup |
| Packing | What will be used on which parts; crate or no crate | Lets you compare like with like |
| Dates | Pickup date, expected dispatch, delivery window | Transit days alone hide the waiting time |
| Cover | Declared value, premium, insurer or responsible party, main exclusions | Decides what happens if something goes wrong |
| Extras | Holding per day, redelivery, extra hands, delivery outside city limits | Disputes often start with extras nobody discussed |
| Tax | Whether GST is shown separately or included | Two quotes can look different only because of GST |
| Payment and cancellation | Advance, when the balance is due, rescheduling and refund terms | These should be in writing before you pay |
| Records | Condition record at pickup, consignment number, delivery sign-off | Your evidence if anything is disputed |
Our general booking framework is on the terms and conditions page. Your written confirmation states the specifics for your move.
How to choose a bike shifting service in Gurgaon
- Prefer the provider who asks the most specific questions about your bike and both addresses. Vague questions produce vague quotes.
- Get the scope, dates, cover and extras in writing, whether you book a carrier directly, a booking service or a marketplace.
- Ask who physically handles the bike at each stage, and who to call if a date or address changes.
- Verify any credential you are told about. If a provider mentions an approval, certification or rating, ask for something you can check. BikeShift Gurgaon does not claim IBA approval.
- Insist on a proper condition record at pickup. Without one, a damage report is your word against theirs.
Our commitments on every booking are practical ones: we plan around both addresses, give you an itemised scope you can compare, and keep a condition and handover record at each end. You can read more about how we work on our about page.
Documents, NOC and registration after the move
Paperwork is easier if you keep three questions separate: what is needed to carry the bike, what you need to ride it at the destination, and which registration steps apply if you stay longer.
| Purpose | What is usually needed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Carrying the bike | Copies of the RC, current insurance policy and owner's photo ID; an authorisation letter if the sender isn't the RC owner | Ask which copies travel with the bike, and keep the originals you need |
| Booking record | Consignment note or booking record issued at pickup | Keep it until delivery is signed off and any issue is closed |
| Riding at the destination | Valid RC, insurance, PUC certificate and your driving licence | Check expiry dates before the move |
| Staying more than twelve months | Reassignment of registration in the new state, normally with a clearance (NOC) from the original Haryana registering authority | Haryana's transport guidance links the reassignment application to a stay of more than twelve months |
| Road tax in the destination state | Depends on that state's rules for vehicles registered elsewhere | Check with the destination transport department; don't rely on a blanket twelve-month exemption |
| Selling or transferring ownership | A separate ownership-transfer process | Not the same as reassignment; different forms and steps |
| Financed bike | The lender's clearance may be needed for reassignment | Tell us at booking if the RC shows hypothecation |
How we handle the document copies you share is set out in our privacy policy. Share only what is needed. If you use Aadhaar as ID, ask whether a masked copy is accepted for the stated purpose.
Transit cover, damage and claims
No packing method or carrier can make damage impossible. It is worth knowing before pickup what happens if something goes wrong.
- Transit cover and motor insurance are different. Your bike's motor policy may not cover it while it is carried as goods. Check with your insurer, and check what transit cover the quote includes.
- Declared value. Cover is usually based on the value you declare. Use a realistic figure. Under-declaring lowers the premium, but it also lowers what can be claimed.
- Exclusions. These commonly include pre-existing damage, mechanical or electrical faults not caused in transit, and items that were not listed. Read the actual policy wording, not a summary.
- Reporting. Note visible damage on the delivery record before signing. Report anything you find later in writing straight away, within the time the terms allow.
- Evidence. Keep the pickup photos, the signed condition record, delivery photos, the consignment number and the invoice. You may also be asked for a repair estimate.
Cover improves your position if something goes wrong. It does not guarantee that a particular claim will be accepted; that depends on the policy conditions and the evidence you can show.
Common mistakes that cost money, and safe ways to save
- Giving a vague model. "Royal Enfield" covers very different bikes. Give the model and variant so the quote doesn't change at pickup.
- Leaving access until the day. Arrange the gate pass and stopping point in advance. A wasted visit can be charged.
- Choosing the lowest figure quoted on the phone. Compare written scopes. A low figure that adds extras at pickup isn't cheaper.
- Paying for holding you could avoid. Time the pickup so delivery follows your arrival, or name a receiver.
- Booking a fixed slot you don't need. Being flexible on pickup or dispatch dates can bring the price down.
- Sending loose items. Unlisted helmets, bags or tools aren't part of the record and may not be covered.
- Signing before inspecting. A "received in good condition" signature weakens any report you make later.
- Handling fuel or EV batteries yourself. Don't siphon fuel, drain anything or remove a battery. Follow the instruction for your model.
- Under-declaring value to save on cover. It saves a little now and can cost far more later.
The safe ways to save are simple: book early on long routes, stay flexible on dates, make access easy at both ends and be available at delivery.
Frequently asked questions about bike transport in Gurgaon
How much does bike transport in Gurgaon cost?
For intercity moves from Gurgaon, our indicative bands start around ₹2,200–₹3,600 for a scooter to Jaipur and go above ₹10,000 for large premium motorcycles on the longest routes such as Chennai or Goa. Short local or NCR moves usually fall roughly between ₹1,800 and ₹4,500. The final figure depends on the exact model, both addresses, access at each end, the bike's condition, packing and any cover you choose. Treat these as planning bands, not fixed tariffs, and ask for a written quote that lists what is included.
What are local bike shifting charges within Gurgaon or to Delhi NCR?
Most short moves within Gurgaon or between Gurgaon and nearby NCR cities are estimated roughly between ₹1,800 and ₹4,500. A running scooter moving between two accessible ground-level addresses sits near the lower end. Distant endpoints such as Manesar to Noida, basement roll-outs, a fixed time slot, waiting time, non-running bikes or heavy premium models push the estimate up. Share both exact locations and the model so the estimate reflects your actual move.
How long does bike transport from Gurgaon to another city take?
Plan on separate dates for pickup, dispatch and delivery. Indicative road transit after dispatch ranges from about one to two days for Jaipur or Chandigarh to five to eight working days for Chennai or Goa, but a bike may wait after pickup until it is loaded on a carrier heading your way. Ask for the expected dispatch date as well as the delivery window, and arrange another way to commute for your first few days at the destination.
Is sending a bike by train cheaper than road transport from Gurugram?
The railway charge alone can look lower, but it covers only station-to-station carriage. You still have to take the bike to a station that is currently accepting two-wheeler bookings, arrange packing, follow the empty-tank requirement, complete the booking formalities and collect it from the destination station. Parcel bookings may travel on a different train from yours; luggage bookings travel with your own journey. Compare the full door-to-door cost and the time you will spend, not just the freight figure.
Can you collect my bike from a society basement in Gurgaon?
Often yes, but it depends on the specific society. Tell us the basement level, whether an outside vehicle is allowed in, the route from the parking slot to the gate, any steep ramps or tight turns, and where a loading vehicle is permitted to stop. Some pickups are loaded inside the premises; others need the bike rolled out to an approved point. Arrange the gate pass or move-out approval with your society before the pickup day.
Can someone else hand over or receive my bike?
Yes, if you name them in advance. Share the authorised person's name and phone number, give them the keys and document copies, and ask them to check the condition record before signing. At delivery, the receiver should inspect the bike before accepting it. If the registered owner is not the person sending the bike, keep a signed authorisation letter with the RC copy.
Do I need an NOC to send a Haryana-registered bike to another state?
An NOC is not usually needed just to transport the bike. Registration is a separate question. Haryana's transport guidance says that when a vehicle stays in another state for more than twelve months, the owner should apply for reassignment there, which normally needs a clearance from the original registering authority. Destination states may also have their own road tax rules for vehicles registered elsewhere, so check with the destination transport department rather than assuming a blanket twelve-month exemption. Selling or transferring ownership is a different process again.
What documents are needed for two-wheeler transport from Gurgaon?
Keep copies of the registration certificate, the bike's current insurance policy and the owner's photo ID ready, plus an authorisation letter if someone other than the RC owner is sending it. The carrier issues a consignment note or similar record at pickup; keep it until delivery is closed. If the bike is financed, mention it, because any later registration transfer may need the lender's clearance. Ask which copies travel with the bike and keep the originals you need for riding.
How much petrol should be left in the tank?
Follow the current instruction from the carrier handling your model, because road carriers set their own limits and railway bookings require an empty tank. The safest way to arrive with a low tank is to plan your last rides so it runs low naturally. Do not siphon, drain or vent petrol yourself in a parking area, and ask the railway booking office how emptying is handled if you are sending the bike by train.
Can you transport electric scooters and EV bikes?
EV acceptance is assessed for each booking. Share the exact make, model and variant, whether the battery is fixed or removable, and any warning lights, swelling, water exposure or previous battery damage. Preparation follows the manufacturer's guidance and the carrier's acceptance rules for that model. Do not remove, open or deliberately drain the battery yourself, and list the charger separately if it is travelling.
Do you move non-running, modified or premium motorcycles?
They can often be moved, but each one is assessed first. For a non-running bike we need to know whether the wheels roll freely, the steering turns and the brakes work, because that decides the loading equipment and the number of people needed. Lowered, modified or faired premium bikes may need a different loading method, extra protection, a crate or a dedicated slot. Photos and a short video of the bike help us give an accurate answer.
Is transit insurance included in the quote?
Do not assume it is. Your written quote should state whether transit cover is included, the declared value it is based on, who the insurer or responsible party is, the premium, and the main exclusions. Your own motor insurance policy may not cover the bike while it is being carried as goods, so check both. No cover guarantees that every claim will be accepted; it depends on the policy conditions and the evidence you can provide.
What should I check when the bike is delivered?
Unwrap and inspect the bike with the delivery person present, in decent light, before signing. Compare it with the pickup photos: tank, panels, fairings, mirrors, levers, lights, footpegs, exhaust, tyres and the odometer reading. Check that keys, listed accessories and any documents have arrived. If you find a problem, write it on the delivery record, photograph it and keep a copy before the delivery person leaves.
What if I notice damage after the delivery person has left?
Report it in writing as soon as possible with dated photos, the consignment number and the pickup condition record. Policies and booking terms often set short time limits for reporting, so check the terms you accepted and do not wait. Keep the packing material and avoid getting repairs done until the issue has been assessed. Late reporting can make it harder to show when the damage happened.
Can my bike be held if I have not reached the destination yet?
Ask before pickup whether holding is available for your route, and agree it in writing. Confirm where the bike will be kept, how it will be protected, the daily holding charge, the date charges start and who can collect it. Often the cheaper option is to schedule pickup so delivery lands after you arrive, or to name a receiver at the destination.
What are the payment and cancellation terms?
They depend on the booking you accept. Before paying anything, ask for the advance amount, when the balance is due, accepted payment methods, the cancellation and rescheduling terms, and charges for a failed pickup or redelivery, all in writing. Our terms and conditions page explains the general framework, and your written booking confirmation should state the specifics for your move.
