Bike Transport Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar: Charges and Delivery Planning
Sending a motorcycle or scooter from Gurugram to Bhubaneswar is one of the longer eastern jobs we plan, roughly 1,700 to 1,800 km by road depending on the two addresses. Most people on this route fall into three groups: Odia professionals moving back home from Cyber City, Udyog Vihar or Golf Course Road; students joining a college in Bhubaneswar; and families sending a second bike to parents in Bhubaneswar or Cuttack.
The distance is not what usually causes trouble. The problems come from a delivery address that just says "Patia" or "Nayapalli", a Cuttack house booked as if it were in Bhubaneswar, a PG in the KIIT area that has no parking, or a delivery slot fixed for a day when the Odisha coast is under a weather warning. This page explains the charges, the timing you can realistically plan for, and the decisions you need to make at the Bhubaneswar end before the bike leaves Gurgaon.

Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar Bike Transport at a Glance
| Item | What to plan for |
|---|---|
| Road reference distance | About 1,700–1,800 km between city references. For comparison, the railway route between New Delhi and Bhubaneswar is a little over 1,700 km. Your two exact addresses and the carrier's permitted route decide the real figure. |
| Transit estimate | About 5–8 working days after confirmed dispatch. Odisha-bound loads can take a little longer to consolidate than loads for Kolkata or Bangalore, so allow a few extra days between collection and dispatch. |
| Planning estimates | From about ₹4,300 hub-to-hub or ₹5,000 doorstep for a scooter, up to about ₹16,000 doorstep for a large premium tourer. These are estimates for one assessed bike, not fixed all-inclusive prices. |
| Weather window | June to September is monsoon. October and November are Odisha's cyclone-risk months. Keep a buffer of a few days on delivery in these periods. |
| Delivery zones | Bhubaneswar city is covered in the doorstep band. Cuttack, Jatni, Khordha, Puri and other Odisha towns are planned and quoted as their own delivery leg. |
| What we need to quote | Model and variant, fitted accessories, running condition, the Gurgaon address and parking type, the full Odisha address with PIN, your release date and the name of the person receiving the bike. |
Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar Bike Transport Charges by Category
The figures below are planning estimates in Indian rupees for one bike after we have assessed it. Hub-to-hub means you hand over and collect the bike at confirmed loading and receiving points. Doorstep includes collection at your Gurgaon address and delivery at an agreed, lawful access point at a Bhubaneswar city address.
| Category | Typical examples (each bike assessed individually) | Hub-to-hub estimate | Doorstep estimate | What usually moves the figure |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scooter and scooty | Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino, TVS Ntorq 125 | ₹4,300–₹5,000 | ₹5,000–₹5,900 | Plastic panels, a fitted top box, and maxi-style scooters, which are assessed higher. |
| Commuter motorcycle | Hero Splendor Plus, Honda Shine, Bajaj Pulsar 125 and 150, TVS Raider 125, Honda SP 125 | ₹4,700–₹5,400 | ₹5,400–₹6,500 | Crash guards, rear carriers and saree guards add width and packing time. |
| Sports and naked street | TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Pulsar NS200, Yamaha MT-15 and R15, KTM Duke 200 and 250 | ₹5,400–₹6,200 | ₹6,200–₹7,300 | Fairings, clip-ons and TFT displays need more protection. Heavier 400s are usually assessed against the next row. |
| Royal Enfield and cruiser | Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Himalayan 450, Jawa 42 | ₹6,400–₹7,500 | ₹7,400–₹8,800 | Weight, chrome, crash bars and panniers. A 650 twin with wide guards may move to the large row. |
| Accepted electric two-wheeler | Ather 450 series, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida, Ola S1 range, only after the exact model is accepted | ₹5,000–₹5,800 | ₹5,800–₹6,900 | The carrier's and manufacturer's battery requirements, a removable battery or charger, and display protection. |
| Large or premium tourer | Kawasaki Z900, BMW GS models, Triumph Tiger 900-class, large Harley-Davidson cruisers | ₹9,000–₹12,000 | ₹11,000–₹16,000 | Width with luggage, declared value, a dedicated space or a crate, which is quoted on its own line. |
What these estimates include and what is itemised separately
Each estimate covers packing suited to your model, the long-distance carrier arrangement and the scope you choose. These items appear as separate lines on your booking so you can see each one:
- applicable taxes;
- the transit cover you choose;
- special handling, such as a crate, a non-running bike or extra accessories;
- delivery outside Bhubaneswar city, for example to Cuttack, Jatni or Puri;
- holding or redelivery, if you agree it in advance.
Doorstep delivery means an accepted lawful access point, such as your gate, the kerb outside the building or the parking area your society nominates. It does not mean the bike will be taken into every tower basement or PG courtyard. If you need that, mention it at enquiry so it can be checked and priced.
Why Bhubaneswar can cost more than Kolkata, even though the gap is only a couple of hundred kilometres
Gurgaon to Kolkata is a busy lane with frequent loads. Bhubaneswar gets fewer dedicated loads, so many bikes travel part of the way on a shared carrier and move to another vehicle for the last stretch, or wait until there is enough cargo for an Odisha departure. That extra handling and waiting time is why the Bhubaneswar bands sit a little above Kolkata's and why the transit estimate starts a day later.
Cross-check against what other providers publish
Public price guides for Delhi NCR to Bhubaneswar bike transport currently quote broad ranges, roughly ₹4,500 to ₹10,000 for regular bikes, with some showing upper figures past ₹15,000 for premium machines. Each one assumes a different scope. Some leave out the doorstep legs, some assume a yard handover, and some say nothing about cover. If a quote is far below the bands above, ask what has been left out. If it is far above, ask what the extra pays for.
Bhubaneswar, Cuttack or Elsewhere in Odisha: Which Delivery Leg Applies
"Odisha" on a booking can mean anything from a flat in Patia to a family home in Rourkela, which is a completely different road. Use this table to see how your destination is planned.
| Destination | How it is planned | What to tell us |
|---|---|---|
| Bhubaneswar city: Patia, Chandrasekharpur, Nayapalli, Saheed Nagar, Jayadev Vihar, Khandagiri and the other main localities | Covered by the doorstep band | Full address with PIN, gate, parking type and receiver |
| Cuttack: CDA sectors, Bidanasi, Link Road, the old city | Its own local leg after the Bhubaneswar arrival, quoted as a separate line | Say "Cuttack" clearly, with the sector or lane and PIN |
| Jatni, Khordha and the IIT Bhubaneswar campus at Argul | Outside the city, quoted as a separate leg | Exact campus gate or village address, and whether an outside vehicle may enter |
| Puri and Konark | Separate leg; festival dates in Puri change what is possible | Address, landmark and your preferred dates |
| Balasore, Bhadrak, Berhampur, Angul and other coastal or central towns | Separate quote; some go via Bhubaneswar, some do not | Town, full address and PIN |
| Sambalpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda and western Odisha | Usually a different route altogether, not via Bhubaneswar | Ask for a separate quote; don't book these as "Bhubaneswar" |
Route, Distance and Realistic Timing
Map apps show a few ways to drive this distance. Most head east through Uttar Pradesh towards Varanasi, either on NH-19 or partly on the expressways. From there, one set of options cuts through Jharkhand and comes down the coast on NH-16 via Balasore and Cuttack. Others go through Chhattisgarh and western Odisha. A goods carrier picks its roads based on its permits, its other drops and where it transfers loads, so we don't promise a single fixed corridor.
A car can do the trip in a little over a day of driving. Freight does not work that way: carriers stop for loading, rest periods, checks and transfers. A realistic estimate is about 5 to 8 working days after dispatch, with collection and any wait for an Odisha-bound load before that, and the final city delivery booked as its own appointment after arrival.
Shared carrier or a direct arrangement
Most bikes on this route travel on a shared carrier and may be transferred once, with a smaller vehicle doing the final leg in Bhubaneswar. That keeps the cost within the bands above. If you want one vehicle all the way with no transfer, ask for a direct quote. It is priced separately and depends on availability. Your written estimate says which arrangement applies.
Milestones you will hear about
We share updates at four points: collection, confirmed dispatch, arrival in the Bhubaneswar area and out for delivery. We do not promise live GPS on every vehicle. Your receipt number links all of these, so quote it in every message.
| Milestone | What it depends on | How to plan around it |
|---|---|---|
| Your Gurgaon release date | Flat handover, last office day, parking sticker expiry | Book collection a few days before this date, not on it. |
| Collection | Slot, society or office permission, someone present with keys | Condition record, key count and receipt number are done here. |
| Confirmed dispatch | When an Odisha-bound load departs | The 5–8 working-day estimate starts here, not at collection. |
| Arrival in the Bhubaneswar area | Transfers, holidays, rain and weather warnings on the coast | Wait for the arrival message before you fix a delivery slot. |
| Final delivery | Receiver availability, an agreed access point, the Cuttack or outer leg if any | Fix it only when the receiver can be there with ID. |
| Your own arrival | Flight or train, joining date, temporary stay | If you land after the bike, name a receiver or agree holding terms before you leave. |
Monsoon, Cyclone Season and Festival Dates at the Odisha End
Weather affects this route more than most of our others, because the last stretch runs along the Bay of Bengal coast.
- June to September. The monsoon brings heavy rain across coastal Odisha. Packing happens on a dry bike, and unpacking should happen under cover.
- October and November. Most of the major cyclones that have hit Odisha arrived in these two months, and the state government treats this as its cyclone period. When the weather department issues a warning for the coast, highway movement and local deliveries can be held for a day or two. Don't plan a delivery on the same day you fly in, and keep two or three spare days if you are moving in this window.
- Rath Yatra (June or July). Puri sees very heavy crowds and traffic restrictions around the festival. Deliveries to Puri are planned around those dates, not through them.
- Durga Puja and Bali Jatra in Cuttack (October and November). The old city gets crowded during the puja weeks and around Bali Jatra. A Cuttack delivery in these weeks may need a morning slot or a stop point outside the busiest lanes.
- Diwali and Chhath. Driver availability across north and east India gets thin around these festivals. If your move falls in late October or early November, book collection earlier than you normally would.
Some habits help in wet or stormy weeks:
- Never wrap a damp bike. If it was washed or rained on, it is dried first.
- Agree a covered spot for unpacking, such as your building's parking or a porch.
- Check for moisture inside the wrap, on the seat and around the display before you sign, and note anything you find.
- Take the wrap off once the bike is delivered. Plastic left on for days in humid coastal air traps moisture against the paint.
Releasing the Bike in Gurgaon
We collect across Gurugram, including the DLF phases, Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road, Sohna Road, the Dwarka Expressway sectors, New Gurgaon, Sushant Lok, South City, Palam Vihar, Udyog Vihar, Cyber City and IMT Manesar. The Gurgaon end is mostly about permissions and access. Our Gurgaon pickup access worksheet lists everything to check. On this route, three situations come up often.
Your last day at a Cyber City or Udyog Vihar office
If the bike is in office parking, the guard is not automatically allowed to release a personal vehicle to a third party. Get written approval from facilities, or move the bike home a weekend earlier. A home pickup is usually easier to schedule than a weekday office exit.
A society basement on Golf Course Extension or the Dwarka Expressway sectors
Pre-approve the collection team through the security desk or visitor app the day before. Tell us the basement level and whether a small vehicle can go down the ramp. If it can't, the bike is wheeled up to the nominated loading point, and the quote accounts for that.
A student PG in Sushant Lok, Sector 15 or near Sohna Road
PG parking is often on the street or in a shared stilt area. Give us the nearest wider road where a small vehicle can stop, and make sure someone with the keys and RC copy is present. A roommate can hand over the bike if you name them in the booking.
Receiving the Bike in Bhubaneswar: An Address-by-Address Decision Table
Bhubaneswar mixes a planned old core, newer northern suburbs that grew around Infocity, and fast-growing colonies on the western and southern edges. A single locality name can cover several PIN codes. Nayapalli, for example, has its own PIN, while IRC Village next to it uses a different one. Use the row that matches your address.
| Destination type | Details to send | Handover point to agree | Cost and timing effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Patia, Infocity, KIIT Road and Raghunathpur | Building or PG name, lane, landmark, PIN, and the PG owner's agreement to parking | The PG or apartment gate, or a confirmed parking spot | Many PGs and hostels here have no parking. Confirm before dispatch, or deliver to a friend's flat nearby. |
| Chandrasekharpur, Nalco Nagar and Sailashree Vihar | Society or tower name, gate number, flat number, PIN | The gate or the parking area security nominates | Society visitor rules apply, as in Gurgaon. Inform security the day before. |
| Planned "Unit" areas: Kharavela Nagar, Saheed Nagar, Satya Nagar, Bapuji Nagar, Ashok Nagar | Plot number, both the locality name and the unit number, and a landmark | The house gate or a lawful stop on the road outside | Usually straightforward, provided the plot number is right. |
| Nayapalli, IRC Village and Jayadev Vihar | Block or plot, the correct PIN for that pocket, and which side of the highway it is on | The building gate or a lawful stop on the service road | The wrong side of NH-16 can mean a long U-turn. A dropped pin saves a lot of time. |
| Khandagiri, Jagamara, Baramunda and Patrapada (SOA University and AIIMS side) | Full address, colony name, PIN, a dropped pin for newer colonies | The gate, or the nearest road a small vehicle can reach | Some newer colonies have unnamed lanes. A location pin and a phone call on the day avoid a second visit. |
| Old Town, near Lingaraj Temple and Kedar Gouri | Exact address, the nearest wider road, and the path to the door | An agreed stop on the wider road, then the bike is wheeled the rest | Narrow lanes and temple crowds. Weekday mornings usually work best. |
| Office campus in Infocity or Mancheswar Industrial Estate | Campus and building name, delivery gate, facility policy on personal vehicles, named receiver | The gate facility security nominates, during office hours | If the campus won't accept a personal bike, a home address is simpler. |
Unit names and unit numbers mean the same place
In the original planned part of the city, people use names and numbers for the same locality. Kharavela Nagar is Unit-3, Ashok Nagar is Unit-2 and Bapuji Nagar is Unit-1, for example. Write both on the booking. A driver from outside the city may only know one of them.
Cuttack is a separate delivery, not a suburb
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are called twin cities, but they are separate cities with the Kathajodi river in between. A Cuttack delivery is its own local leg after the bike reaches Bhubaneswar, and it is quoted that way. The CDA sectors across the river are planned and fairly easy to reach. The old city around Buxi Bazar and Chandni Chowk has very narrow lanes, so give us a wider road where a vehicle can stop. If your parents live in Cuttack but you want the bike at your Bhubaneswar office, say so. Those are two different handovers.
Students: KIIT, SOA, AIIMS, Utkal University and IIT Bhubaneswar
Before you book, check two things with your college or hostel: whether students may keep a two-wheeler on campus, and whether an outside delivery vehicle may enter. Many campuses let the bike in only with the student present and the RC in hand. IIT Bhubaneswar sits at Argul near Jatni, well outside the main city, so it is planned as an outer delivery. If you will be staying in a PG first, deliver there only if the owner agrees to parking in writing.
A named receiver and temporary stays
If you won't be there yourself, name the receiver in the booking. They need photo ID, a copy of your signed authorisation and the receipt number, and they must be able to inspect the bike and sign. If you are staying with relatives or in a PG before moving into your flat, pick one of these before you leave Gurgaon:
- deliver to the temporary address, with the owner's agreement to parking;
- agree in writing that the carrier holds the bike for a set period at a set daily charge;
- book redelivery to the final flat on a later date, priced in advance.
Packing Suited to Your Model
Packing is chosen for the bike, not applied as one standard bundle. The bike is dried first, paint and plastics are cushioned, levers, mirrors and displays are protected, and tie-downs go through strong frame points rather than across panels or the seat.
- Scooters: side panels, front apron and visor are padded first; straps are kept off plastic; the under-seat storage is emptied.
- Commuter bikes: tank, headlamp, indicators and levers are padded; loose top boxes come off and are listed.
- Sports and naked bikes: fairings and clip-ons are kept clear of straps; the display and tail section get extra cover.
- Royal Enfield and cruisers: restraint is planned for the weight; chrome, exhaust and crash bars are padded; panniers are removed and listed, or fixed and recorded.
- Accepted EVs: handled according to the manufacturer's and carrier's rules for that model. Do not open or remove the battery yourself, and ask in writing how a removable battery will travel. List the charger on the receipt.
- Premium tourers and non-running bikes: assessed individually. For a non-running bike, tell us whether it rolls, whether the brakes hold and whether the steering is locked.
Preparing the Bike Before Collection
- Fuel. Keep only a low level, as the carrier instructs. Ride it down naturally; never siphon or drain petrol yourself, and never send spare fuel.
- Accessories. Remove phone holders, camera mounts, tank bags and loose items. Anything travelling with the bike goes on the receipt.
- Keys. Record how many keys travel. Keep the spare with you, or with the receiver in Odisha.
- Your own photos. Photograph all four sides, the odometer and existing marks in daylight before the crew arrives.
- Documents. Keep copies of the RC, current insurance, PUC and your ID ready, plus a signed authorisation if someone else hands over or receives the bike.
- Permissions. Approve the visit with society security or your office facility team the day before.
- Faults. Tell us about warning lights, weak brakes or a flat tyre before the collection day.
How Booking Works, Step by Step
- Enquiry. Send the model, fitted parts, condition, both exact addresses, your release date and the receiver's details.
- Written estimate. You get the category, the scope, the carrier arrangement, and separate lines for taxes, cover, special handling and any outer delivery leg.
- Booking confirmation. Payment, cancellation and rescheduling terms are as written in the booking you accept.
- Collection. The crew records the condition, counts the keys, packs the bike and issues a receipt number.
- Dispatch message. The transit estimate starts here.
- Arrival and appointment. Once the bike reaches the Bhubaneswar area, the delivery slot is fixed with you or your receiver.
- Inspection and sign-off. Unpack, compare against the collection record, note anything on the receipt and then sign.
Worked Example: a Hypothetical Gurgaon to Cuttack Budget in October
This is an illustrative scenario to show how to build a budget. It is not a quote, an invoice or a past booking, and the amounts are assumptions.
Scenario: a Royal Enfield Classic 350 on the second basement level of a Sector 83 society, going to the owner's parents in a CDA sector in Cuttack. The owner flies out three days after collection, in late October.
| Item | Example amount | What would change it |
|---|---|---|
| Carriage in the Royal Enfield doorstep band, delivered to Bhubaneswar city | ₹8,000 | Exact variant, accessories, dates |
| Cuttack delivery leg (assumed) | ₹600 | Old city or CDA sector, slot timing |
| Basement roll-out with an extra person, if treated as extra (assumed) | ₹300 | Ramp, distance to gate, loading inside or outside |
| Transit cover on a declared value of ₹1,60,000 (example only) | ₹1,300 | The policy, declared value and exclusions |
| Holding for two days if a cyclone warning delays the delivery slot (example ₹150 a day) | ₹300, or ₹0 | Weather, whether the parents can receive on the rescheduled day |
| GST | As shown on the invoice | Not assumed here |
In this example the provider's charges come to ₹10,200 plus GST, or ₹10,500 if holding is needed. Two lines matter more than people expect: the Cuttack leg, which a "Bhubaneswar" quote would not include, and a weather buffer in October. Both are cheaper to plan for than to discover on the day.
Documents and Odisha Registration Questions
For transport, keep copies of the RC, current insurance, your photo ID, a PUC certificate and, if someone else hands over or receives the bike, a signed authorisation. Keep the originals, because you will need them to ride in Odisha.
Getting the bike carried is a separate question from registering it in Odisha. Haryana's transport guidance links reassignment in a new state to a stay of more than twelve months, normally with a clearance from the original registering authority. On the Odisha side, the state's motor vehicle tax law has provisions for one-time tax on vehicles bought outside Odisha and brought into the state, and the transport department has issued circulars on how that tax is worked out. If you are moving back for good, check the current requirement with the RTO for your area in Bhubaneswar or Cuttack, and keep your original purchase invoice handy because it may be needed to calculate the tax. If the bike is financed, your lender's clearance will be needed for any registration change. We don't give legal advice or promise tax outcomes, and these rules can change.
Railway Parcel, Luggage or a Road Carrier: A Fair Comparison
Trains between Delhi and Bhubaneswar, including the Rajdhani and Duronto services, run from Delhi terminals such as New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar. From Gurgaon that means first getting the bike into Delhi to the right parcel office, which is a real cost and half a day of your time. A bike can go as a parcel, travelling separately, or as luggage on your own train. Station and train acceptance must be checked with the railway, and railway rules ask for an empty tank.
| Factor | Rail parcel or luggage | Road carrier through BikeShift Gurgaon |
|---|---|---|
| Handover | At a Delhi station parcel or luggage office, during its working hours | At your Gurgaon address (doorstep) or a confirmed loading point (hub-to-hub) |
| Packing | Arranged and paid for by you | Packing suited to the model, included in the estimate |
| Fuel | Empty tank, as per railway rules | Low level, as the carrier instructs |
| At the Odisha end | You collect it from the Bhubaneswar (or Cuttack) parcel office, under the railway's collection rules | Delivered at an agreed appointment at your address |
| Total cost | Freight, packing, getting to and from both stations, and fuel afterwards | Category estimate, plus taxes, cover and any outer leg |
| Suits | Owners on the same train, or living close to both stations, with time at each end | Owners flying, students, families where a parent receives the bike |
Rail can work well if you are taking the train yourself. Compare the full door-to-door cost and the time you will spend, not just the freight figure.
Transit Cover and Claims
Your bike's motor policy may not cover it while it is carried as goods, whatever a sales call tells you. Check with your insurer, and ask four questions about the transit cover in your quote: which stages it covers, what declared value it uses, what it excludes, and how and by when damage must be reported. Declare a realistic value. If something goes wrong, the evidence that counts is the collection record, your photos, the delivery receipt notes and a prompt written report. No one can promise a claim outcome in advance.
Choosing a Provider and Avoiding Costly Mistakes
Questions worth asking any provider for this route
- Is the price for Bhubaneswar city only, and what is the extra line for Cuttack, Jatni or Puri?
- Is it hub-to-hub or doorstep, and what happens at each end?
- Will the bike be transferred on the way, and where?
- What happens to my delivery date if there is a cyclone warning on the coast?
- Which lines are itemised: taxes, cover, special handling, holding, redelivery?
- Will I get a written receipt and a condition record at collection?
Mistakes that cost time or money on this route
- Writing "Bhubaneswar" for an address in Cuttack, Jatni or Khordha.
- Booking Rourkela or Sambalpur as if it were near Bhubaneswar.
- Sending the bike to a PG or hostel that has no parking.
- Giving only "Patia" or "Nayapalli" without the lane, plot and PIN.
- Fixing delivery for the day you land, in October or November.
- Leaving collection to your last day in Gurgaon, with no slack for a missed slot.
- Assuming your own motor insurance covers the bike in transit.
- Signing for delivery before inspecting the bike, especially in the rain.
Where you can genuinely save
- Give flexible collection dates so the bike can join a scheduled Odisha load.
- Remove accessories that would push the bike into a wider category.
- Choose hub-to-hub only if both handover points are genuinely close to you.
- Avoid the Diwali and Chhath weeks if your dates allow it.
- Agree holding or redelivery terms in advance rather than on the day.

Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar Bike Transport FAQs
What are the bike transport charges from Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar?
Planning estimates per assessed bike are: scooter ₹4,300–₹5,000 hub-to-hub or ₹5,000–₹5,900 doorstep; commuter motorcycle ₹4,700–₹5,400 or ₹5,400–₹6,500; sports and naked bike ₹5,400–₹6,200 or ₹6,200–₹7,300; Royal Enfield and cruiser ₹6,400–₹7,500 or ₹7,400–₹8,800; accepted EV ₹5,000–₹5,800 or ₹5,800–₹6,900; large or premium tourer ₹9,000–₹12,000 or ₹11,000–₹16,000. Taxes, cover, special handling and any delivery outside Bhubaneswar city are itemised separately.
How many days does bike transport from Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar take?
Plan for about 5 to 8 working days after confirmed dispatch. Before that, the bike may wait a few days after collection for an Odisha-bound load. After it reaches Bhubaneswar, the delivery is booked as a separate appointment. In October and November, keep a few extra days in case a cyclone warning holds movement on the coast.
What is the road distance from Gurgaon to Bhubaneswar?
Roughly 1,700 to 1,800 km by road, depending on the exact addresses and the route taken. Most routes go east through Uttar Pradesh towards Varanasi, then either through Jharkhand and down the NH-16 coast via Cuttack, or through Chhattisgarh and western Odisha. The carrier's permitted route decides the actual road used.
Do you deliver to Cuttack, Puri or other towns in Odisha?
Yes, once the address is assessed. Cuttack, Jatni, Khordha, the IIT Bhubaneswar campus at Argul and Puri are planned as separate delivery legs after the bike reaches Bhubaneswar, and the extra is shown as its own line. Towns such as Balasore and Berhampur are quoted individually. Western Odisha towns like Sambalpur and Rourkela usually travel on a different route, so ask for a separate quote rather than booking them as Bhubaneswar.
What address details do you need for a Bhubaneswar delivery?
The full address with PIN, the building, society or PG name, the gate, a landmark and a dropped location pin for newer colonies. In the planned Unit areas, give both the locality name and the unit number. In Nayapalli and IRC Village, check the PIN for your exact pocket, because neighbouring areas use different PINs. Also name the person who will receive the bike.
I am a student at KIIT or another Bhubaneswar college. Can the bike be delivered to my hostel?
Only if your campus allows students to keep a two-wheeler and lets an outside delivery vehicle in, so check with your hostel office first. Many campuses need the student present with the RC. If you will stay in a PG, confirm in writing that the owner has parking. Otherwise, deliver to a friend's or relative's address nearby and ride it over.
What happens if there is a cyclone warning when my bike is due?
Highway movement and local deliveries on the Odisha coast can be held for a day or two when the weather department issues a warning. We reschedule the delivery once it is safe to move. To avoid holding charges or a missed handover, keep a buffer of two or three days in October and November and don't fix delivery for the day you land.
Will my bike travel on one truck all the way to Bhubaneswar?
Usually not. Most bikes travel on a shared carrier and may be transferred once, with a smaller vehicle doing the final leg in the city. If you want one vehicle with no transfer, ask for a direct quote, which is priced separately and depends on availability. Your written estimate states which arrangement applies.
Is sending a bike by train from Delhi to Bhubaneswar cheaper?
The rail freight figure can be lower, but from Gurgaon you first have to get the bike to a Delhi station parcel office, arrange packing, follow the empty-tank rule and collect it from the parcel office in Bhubaneswar. Add those costs and your time before comparing. Rail suits owners travelling on the same train or living near both stations; road suits those who need a doorstep handover.
Do I need an NOC to send a Haryana-registered bike to Odisha?
Not just to transport it. Registration is a separate matter. If you will keep the bike in Odisha long term, Haryana's guidance links reassignment to a stay of more than twelve months, usually with a clearance from the original registering authority, and Odisha has its own tax provisions for vehicles brought in from other states. Check the current requirement with your local RTO in Bhubaneswar or Cuttack, and with your lender if the bike is financed.
Can my parents receive the bike in Bhubaneswar or Cuttack?
Yes. Name them in the booking and share their phone number. They should have photo ID, a copy of your signed authorisation and the receipt number, and they should inspect the bike against the collection photos before signing. Sending them those photos in advance makes the check much easier.
Can you transport an electric scooter such as an Ather or iQube to Bhubaneswar?
Yes, once the exact model is accepted against the carrier's and manufacturer's requirements. Do not open or remove the battery yourself. If it has a removable battery, ask in writing how it will travel. The charger and any accessories are listed on the receipt.
How much fuel should be in the tank?
Keep only a low level, as the carrier instructs, and don't fill up before collection. Ride the tank down naturally rather than draining it, and never send spare fuel in bottles. If you choose rail instead, railway rules require an empty tank, so ask the parcel office how they handle it.
What should I do if I find damage after delivery?
Inspect the bike before signing, under cover if it is raining, and note any damage or moisture on the delivery receipt with photos. If you find something later, report it in writing as soon as possible with photos and the receipt number, within the time limits in your booking and cover documents. What cover pays depends on the policy that was issued.
