Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad

Moving to Ahmedabad and sending your bike or scooter separately? Here is the short answer. By road, Ahmedabad is roughly 920–970 km from Gurgaon. The exact figure depends on where in Gurugram the bike starts, where it finally goes and which route the carrying vehicle is permitted to use. Once the bike has actually been dispatched, plan on about 3–5 working days for it to reach Ahmedabad. Planning prices for one bike run from about ₹3,200 for a scooter to ₹10,000 for a large or premium motorcycle.

The most useful detail you can give us is not just "Ahmedabad". It is the exact place where a real person will receive the bike. That might be a society gate in Shela, a flat in Maninagar, a PG near your college, a house in a Gandhinagar sector or a tower in GIFT City. That one detail shapes the delivery leg, the appointment and sometimes the price.

A practical plan before you book

Most problems on this route come from a mismatch between the bike's schedule and the owner's move, not from the long road journey itself. Four decisions, made in this order, prevent most of them.

  1. Choose where the bike will be received, and by whom. Usually this is your residence, not your new office. Name one receiver and one backup.
  2. Fit the dispatch date around your own travel. The bike should ideally reach Ahmedabad after you, or after your receiver, can take it in.
  3. Check what the price covers. Door or handover point, packing, local legs, tax and cover should all be clear before you agree.
  4. Prepare the bike and the paperwork. Clean and dry the bike, photograph it, note the odometer reading and keep copies of your documents ready.

The sections below take each decision in turn.

Gurgaon to Ahmedabad bike transport charges

The ranges below are planning figures for one assessed bike. They follow the Ahmedabad prices already shown on our Gurgaon homepage, split by bike type so you can see where your model is likely to sit. They are not a fixed tariff. Two bikes in the same row can be priced differently once the model, condition and both addresses are known.

A delivery to Gandhinagar, GIFT City, Sanand, Changodar or another point outside the main city is assessed on its own. It is not covered automatically by the Ahmedabad figure. The same applies to a hard-to-reach address inside the city.

What your quote should spell out

Before you agree to a price, from us or anyone else, check that it states each of these clearly:

If a line is missing, ask. A price that looks low because it leaves out the last few kilometres in Ahmedabad is not really low.

Why engine size alone does not set the price

Many price lists for this route are arranged by engine size, which is a reasonable starting point but an incomplete one. A 125cc scooter with a top box and windscreen can take more space and care than a bare 150cc commuter. A 350cc cruiser with panniers and crash bars is wider than the same bike without them.

What really matters is the bike's weight, its width at the handlebars and mirrors, its value, any fitted accessories and its condition. That is why we ask for the exact model, its variant and a few photos, rather than just the engine size.

Distance and realistic timing

Mapped driving routes between Gurgaon and Ahmedabad come out at about 920–970 km. The route is confirmed for the carrying vehicle rather than chosen from labels such as “NH48” or “via Udaipur”. The exact distance for your bike depends on the start and end points and on which roads the carrying vehicle is permitted to use. Road conditions and closures change, so no single route should be assumed.

A passenger car can cover the distance in roughly 14 to 18 hours of driving. That figure has little to do with freight. A bike moving by road is collected, packed, loaded with other consignments, carried and then delivered locally, and each stage takes its own time. For planning, allow about 3–5 working days after the bike has been dispatched for it to reach Ahmedabad. This is a researched estimate and not a record of any particular trip. Bookings in busy months, or deliveries to outer areas, can take longer.

How the time splits between stages
StageWhat happensPlanning note
Enquiry and assessmentModel, condition and both addresses are checked and a price is agreedStart this a week or more before you need the bike collected
Collection in GurgaonThe bike is inspected, photographed, packed and picked upYour society may need a gate pass for the bike to leave
DispatchThe bike starts the journey towards AhmedabadThe 3–5 working day window counts from here, not from collection
Arrival and local legThe bike reaches the city and is routed to your locality or endpointOuter areas, Gandhinagar and GIFT City can add time
Final handoverDelivery at the agreed time to the named receiverFixed by appointment, not automatically on the day the bike arrives

A simple way to plan: if the bike is dispatched on a Monday, Thursday is the earliest realistic day to expect it, and the window can run into the following week. Keep your own travel plans flexible around that.

Where in Ahmedabad will the bike actually be received?

Many people moving on this route have a workplace in one part of the region and a home in another. Someone joining a company on SG Highway may rent in Shela. A plant job in Sanand may come with a flat in Bopal or a room near the plant. A posting in GIFT City may mean living in Gandhinagar, Chandkheda or western Ahmedabad.

The bike should normally go where you will sleep and park it, not where you will work. Each part of the city also brings its own practical questions, so there is no single delivery price that covers every area.

Bopal, Shela, Prahlad Nagar and SG Highway

Western Ahmedabad has many newer gated societies and high-rise towers. Delivery here is usually straightforward, but security desks often want the receiver's name and flat number in advance. Some societies let the bike be wheeled into a basement or stilt parking, and others only allow handover at the main gate. Tell us the society name, tower and flat number. Also tell us whether you have been given a parking slot, and share the security desk's number if you have it.

Maninagar, Vastral, Nikol and Naroda

The eastern side has a mix of residential societies, row houses, independent homes and busy main roads. Addresses can be harder to find from a society name alone, so a nearby landmark and a pinned location help a lot. If the receiver works long hours, share a backup person nearby or give a time window when someone will definitely be at home.

Older central buildings and pol lanes

Parts of central Ahmedabad have narrow lanes and older buildings where a larger vehicle cannot safely or lawfully reach the door. In these cases, the practical answer is to agree in advance on a lawful nearby point. The bike can be unloaded there and wheeled the last stretch by the receiver. It is much better to plan this at booking than to discover it on delivery day.

Vatva, Odhav, Sanand and Changodar

These are working industrial areas, and people moving for plant or factory jobs often give the plant address by habit. Many sites have their own security and visitor procedures and may not receive a personal vehicle at the gate. Check with your HR or security team before giving a plant address. If the answer is unclear, a residence is the safer choice. Also tell us your shift pattern so the appointment falls when you or your receiver are free.

Chandkheda and Motera

These northern localities sit between central Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, and people heading to Gandhinagar or GIFT City sometimes choose to live here. Give the full address with society name and nearest landmark, so the delivery is planned for the right side of the city.

Gandhinagar and GIFT City

GIFT City is a clear example of why "Ahmedabad" and "GIFT/Gandhinagar" should not be treated as the same delivery point. One official GIFT City booklet gives its contact address as a block and road within GIFT SEZ, GIFT City, Gandhinagar 382355. Addresses there are written by zone, block or tower and road, not by a city locality name.

If your bike is going to GIFT City, share the tower or block, the road, the zone and the name of the actual receiver. Check first whether a personal vehicle can be received there at all. If not, use your residence. For Gandhinagar homes, share the sector number and house or plot details. A pincode alone does not tell anyone which gate to go to, and we have no affiliation with GIFT City. Delivery to either place is assessed separately rather than included automatically.

Receiving decision table

Use this table to work out what to share for your type of address and what to do if that address cannot take the bike. It does not describe any building's or company's own entry rules. Those you will need to check locally.

Fill this in before you book. Each line links one part of your move to the bike's schedule. Gaps here are what usually cause a bike to arrive to an empty gate.

Your joining date at the new job or college is not the date the bike should arrive. Most people spend their first days in Ahmedabad settling into a room, doing paperwork and getting used to the commute. A bike delivered on the morning of your first working day, to an address with no confirmed parking, creates stress for no reason. Aim for the bike to arrive a day or two after you are properly settled.

If you expect the bike to reach Ahmedabad before you do, ask before dispatch whether holding is available. Ask for how long, at what cost, and how redelivery would work. Do not assume a bike will be stored for free. If holding is not available, either name a receiver who can take it in or move the dispatch date.

Choosing the arrangement and reading the budget

Shared carriage or a direct vehicle

Most bikes on this route travel by shared carriage, packed and loaded with other consignments heading the same way. This keeps the cost to the planning ranges shown above. In return, the timing depends partly on when a load is ready, which is one reason the planning window is given in working days.

A direct or dedicated vehicle for a single bike gives more control over timing. It costs far more and is only an option if it is available and separately quoted. For most owners moving one bike, shared carriage is the sensible choice. Plan your dates around it rather than paying for speed you may not need.

Door delivery or a confirmed handover point

Door delivery means the bike is brought to your society gate, building or house. A handover point means you, or your receiver, collect it from an agreed place in the city and take it home yourself. A handover point can reduce the price, but it moves the work and the risk of the last stretch onto you.

That stretch is the hardest part on a hot afternoon, with a bike that may have little or no fuel in it. Door delivery is usually worth it for western societies, Gandhinagar and anywhere far from the handover point. A handover point makes most sense when it is close to home and the receiver can ride or wheel the bike safely from there.

What each cost line means

A worked comparison of two quotes

This example is hypothetical. It is not a real invoice, a past job or our fixed charges, and it only shows how to compare quotes fairly. The assumptions are a running 350cc cruiser, collection from a society in Sector 49, Gurugram, and delivery to a society in Shela. Both quotes offer optional transit cover at an assumed ₹480, and the tax figure is an illustration only.

Hypothetical comparison of two quotes for one 350cc cruiser
Cost lineQuote AQuote B
Collection, packing and carriage₹4,600₹5,700 (covers every line below except cover)
Delivery pointA handover point in the cityDoor, at the Shela society gate
Local leg to ShelaNot included, owner arranges, estimated ₹600Included
UnloadingIncluded at the handover pointIncluded
TaxAdded on top, assumed ₹230Included
Transit cover (chosen)₹480₹480
Comparable total₹5,910₹6,180

Quote A first looked ₹1,100 cheaper. Once the missing lines are added (₹4,600 + ₹600 + ₹230 + ₹480 = ₹5,910), the real gap with Quote B (₹5,700 + ₹480 = ₹6,180) is just ₹270. For that ₹270, Quote A also asks the owner to do more work.

The receiver has to reach the handover point on time and arrange the trip to Shela. They then need a way to get a bike with very little fuel home safely. If the first local trip falls through and a second has to be arranged, that cost alone can wipe out the saving.

Neither quote is right or wrong. What matters is comparing them on the same lines before deciding.

How different bikes are assessed

The general approach is the same for every bike: check the model, check its condition, protect the vulnerable parts and record its state before it leaves. The details differ by type. For your exact model, follow the manufacturer's guidance and any instructions you are given for the booking.

Scooters

Scooters are compact, but their body panels crack and scratch easily, and mirrors and front aprons are exposed. Mention a top box, windscreen, backrest or leg guard when you ask for a price. These affect space and packing, and a box may need to be removed and packed separately.

Commuter motorcycles

These are the simplest bikes to handle. The usual points of care are mirrors, indicators and the front mudguard. Add-ons such as crash guards or carriers change the bike's width, so mention them.

Cruisers and tourers

Royal Enfields and similar bikes are heavy and often fitted with panniers, crash bars, extra lights or screens. Weight changes how the bike is loaded and secured, and accessories change how it is packed. Remove luggage and soft bags and send them with your household belongings. Tell us about fitted hard panniers so they can be assessed.

Faired and sport bikes

Fairings, visors and sharp body lines are the most exposed parts on these bikes. Clip-on handlebars and aftermarket parts also need attention. Share clear photos of the fairing condition before booking, because existing marks should be recorded at pickup.

Large and premium motorcycles

Larger and higher-value bikes need more careful loading and securing, and more attention to protecting the paint and body. That is why they sit in a higher planning range. If your bike has expensive aftermarket parts, list them and photograph them, and think carefully about whether to choose transit cover.

Electric scooters and motorcycles

An electric two-wheeler is moved only after the specific model has been accepted for carriage. Follow the manufacturer's and carrier's instructions on charge level and battery handling. Do not remove or disconnect a battery yourself unless the manufacturer tells you to. Pack the charger separately with your belongings unless another arrangement has been agreed, and note the charge level and range shown at pickup.

Non-running or damaged bikes

A bike that does not start, has a flat tyre, a seized chain or accident damage can often still be moved. It needs more handling at loading and unloading, so tell us about the condition up front. That way the right help is planned and the price reflects it, rather than surprising anyone on collection day.

Before the bike is packed

From booking to receiving: the full process

  1. Share the details. Bike model and variant, condition, accessories, pickup sector in Gurugram, full receiving address and your rough dates.
  2. Get the assessment and price. The quote lists what is and isn't included, using the lines in the checklist above.
  3. Agree the dates. Collection date, expected dispatch, the planning window and how the final appointment will be fixed.
  4. Agree payment terms. When payment is due and how is agreed at booking. Make sure you understand them before handing over the bike.
  5. Prepare the bike and papers. Clean, dry, photographed, odometer noted, accessories removed, document copies ready.
  6. Collection in Gurgaon. The bike is inspected together with you, its condition is recorded, and it is packed and collected. Keep your copy of the condition record.
  7. Dispatch and updates. Ask how updates are shared and whom to contact during transit.
  8. Appointment in Ahmedabad. Once the bike is close to delivery, the handover time is fixed with your receiver.
  9. Handover and check. Unpack, inspect the bike against the pickup photos and record before signing, and note any visible damage on the delivery record.

Owner preparation checklist

Documents, registration and cover

For the transport itself, keep copies of the registration certificate (RC), valid insurance and your photo ID ready for the booking. Keep the originals with you. If a family member, flatmate or colleague will hand over or receive the bike for you, give them a signed authorisation and ask them to carry their own ID.

Moving the bike versus re-registering it in Gujarat

Transporting a bike from Haryana to Gujarat does not change its registration. Re-registration is a separate question. If you plan to keep and use the bike in Gujarat for a longer period, check the current rules on re-registration and road tax with the transport authorities. Also check whether you need a NOC from the registering authority in Haryana.

If the bike is under a loan, your lender's NOC is needed for most registration changes. The right steps depend on your situation, so do not rely on any single tax-free period you may have heard about.

Transit cover

Transit cover applies only if you choose it and it is actually issued. Before dispatch, read what it covers, the declared value it is based on, what it excludes and how claims are made. Cover reduces your risk, but it does not mean every loss is paid in full. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain whatever cover you choose.

If you find damage

Inspect the bike at handover against the pickup record and photos before signing. Note any visible damage on the delivery record, photograph it and report it to the provider promptly. Some damage only shows up later, such as a scratch under the packing or a problem you notice on the first ride. Report that as soon as you find it, with photos and your booking details. Quick, well-documented reports are much easier to resolve.

Road transport, rail parcel or riding it yourself

Road transport is not the only way to get your bike to Ahmedabad. A fair comparison helps you choose the option that suits your time, budget and energy.

Comparing the main ways to move a bike from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad
OptionWhat you doWhat to confirmUsually suits
Road transport by a carrierPrepare the bike, hand it over and receive it at the agreed pointDelivery point, what the price includes, cover, timing windowOwners who want door collection and delivery without visiting stations
Rail parcelPack the bike properly, book it at the station parcel office and collect it from the destination stationThe exact stations, the train, acceptance of your model, documents and the station's current procedureOwners near the stations who can handle booking and collection themselves
Accompanied luggageBook the bike as luggage against your own ticket on the train you are travelling onWhether your train and stations accept it, packing, documents and collection on arrivalOwners travelling by train who want the bike to arrive with them
Riding it yourselfRide about 920–970 km over at least two long daysPermitted roads for two-wheelers, rest stops, weather, the bike's service conditionExperienced riders with time to spare and no heavy luggage

What rail really involves

Railway guidance for bike parcels asks for proper packing, the RC and government ID, and an empty fuel tank. Procedures and charges vary by station and train, so check them at the station you plan to use rather than relying on a figure from elsewhere. On the Gurgaon side you may end up using a Delhi station. Ahmedabad has more than one major station, so confirm which one the bike will arrive at before you book.

A rail parcel travels on its own, while luggage travels on the train you are booked on. Either way, you usually handle the packing, booking, collection and the ride home from the station. If you are considering an electric two-wheeler by rail, ask the station directly whether your model is accepted.

Riding to Ahmedabad

Riding is possible for experienced riders, but it is a long trip at highway speeds, often in heat. Access-controlled expressways generally do not permit two-wheelers, so check which roads you can lawfully use before you plan the route. Get the bike serviced first, keep luggage light and plan at least one overnight stop. If you are also moving a household and starting a new job, ask yourself honestly whether two days of riding is the best use of that week.

Choosing a provider for this route

Whoever you choose, judge them on three things: what they will do, what evidence they give you and how easily you can reach them.

Be careful with promises that no honest provider can make. These include guaranteed delivery dates regardless of conditions, packing described as completely scratch-proof, and cover described as paying for everything.

How BikeShift Gurgaon handles your enquiry

When you contact us, we ask for the bike model, its condition, your Gurugram pickup point and the exact receiving address, whether in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, GIFT City or Sanand. We then explain what the price includes and what it does not. If an address looks difficult, such as a plant gate, a narrow lane or an office tower, we say so and suggest a practical alternative. Frequently asked questions

What are the bike transport charges from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad?

Planning ranges for one assessed bike are about ₹3,200 to ₹4,200 for a scooter, ₹3,800 to ₹4,800 for a commuter motorcycle, ₹4,500 to ₹5,600 for a street or performance bike, ₹4,800 to ₹6,200 for a cruiser or tourer, ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 for an accepted electric two-wheeler and ₹6,500 to ₹10,000 for a large or premium motorcycle. The actual quote depends on the exact model, its condition and accessories, the pickup and delivery points, packing, local legs, applicable tax and any cover you choose.

How long does bike transport from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad take?

Ahmedabad is roughly 920 to 970 km from Gurgaon by road. Plan on about 3 to 5 working days after the bike is actually dispatched. Collection and loading in Gurgaon happen before that, and the final handover in Ahmedabad is fixed by appointment, so keep a few days of margin around your own travel and joining dates.

What happens if my bike reaches Ahmedabad before I do?

Ask about this before dispatch, not after. Find out whether holding is available, for how long, at what cost and how redelivery would be arranged. If no holding is available, either name a receiver who can take the bike on your behalf or move the dispatch date so the bike arrives after you do.

Can you deliver to Gandhinagar or GIFT City instead of Ahmedabad?

Delivery to Gandhinagar or GIFT City is assessed as its own endpoint, not treated as part of Ahmedabad. Share the full address, including sector or zone, block, building and road, along with the name and phone number of the person who will receive the bike. If an office will not accept a personal vehicle, a nearby residence is usually the more practical delivery point.

Can the bike be delivered to my plant or office in Sanand?

Only if the site agrees to receive a personal vehicle. Many workplaces have their own security procedures, so check with your HR or security team first. If the plant cannot receive it, give your residence address in Sanand or Ahmedabad and a receiver who is available outside your shift hours.

Is scooty transport from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad cheaper than a motorcycle?

Usually, yes. A standard scooter sits in the lowest planning range of about ₹3,200 to ₹4,200. Larger scooters, extra accessories such as a top box or windscreen, or existing damage that needs extra care can move the price up within or beyond that range.

Do you transport Royal Enfield and other cruisers to Ahmedabad?

Yes, after assessing the model. Cruisers and tourers such as a Classic 350, Meteor 350 or Himalayan usually fall in the ₹4,800 to ₹6,200 planning range. Panniers, crash guards and other fitted parts should be mentioned when you ask for a quote, because they affect packing and space.

Can you move an electric scooter or electric bike from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad?

An electric two-wheeler is moved only after the specific model is accepted for carriage. The planning range for an accepted EV is about ₹4,000 to ₹5,000. Follow the manufacturer and carrier instructions on charge level and battery handling, and pack the charger separately with your belongings unless another arrangement has been agreed.

Which documents do I need for bike transport?

Keep copies of the RC, valid insurance and your photo ID ready for the booking. Keep the originals with you. If someone else will hand over or receive the bike, give them a signed authorisation along with a copy of their own ID.

Do I need to re-register my bike in Gujarat after moving?

Transporting the bike does not change its registration. If you will keep and use the bike in Gujarat for a longer period, check the current re-registration, road tax and NOC requirements with the transport authorities, and ask your lender about any NOC if the bike is under a loan. There is no single rule that suits every case.

Is transit insurance included in the price?

Not automatically. Transit cover applies only if you choose it and it is actually issued. Read what it covers, its exclusions and the claim steps before dispatch. Choosing cover does not mean every loss is paid in full, and your statutory rights as a consumer remain.

What should I do if my bike is damaged when it arrives?

Check the bike before signing the delivery note, compare it with the photos taken at pickup, and note any visible damage on the delivery record. Take clear photos, then report it to the provider promptly. If you find damage later, report it as soon as you notice it, with photos.

Should I empty the petrol tank before sending my bike?

Follow the instructions given for your booking. Railway parcel guidance asks for an empty tank, while a road carrier may give its own instruction. Never pack spare fuel in bottles or containers with the bike or your luggage.

Is a railway bike parcel better than road transport from Gurgaon to Ahmedabad?

It depends on how much effort you want to take on. A rail parcel needs proper packing, the RC and government ID, an empty tank, and booking at the station, and you usually collect the bike from the destination station yourself. Road transport can include door collection and delivery. Confirm the exact station, train and acceptance of your model before choosing rail.
