Bike Transport Gurgaon to Dehradun

Need to send a motorcycle or scooty from Gurgaon to Dehradun? BikeShift Gurgaon arranges assessed doorstep collection anywhere in Gurugram, followed by packing, road transport and delivery to the exact Dehradun address you give us. That address could be a family home, a rented flat, a PG near your college or a receiving point near a defence establishment. For most two-wheelers the charges fall between about ₹2,500 and ₹5,000, and large or premium motorcycles cost more. For shared road movement, plan on about one to two working days after the bike is dispatched.

On this route, the planning that matters most happens at the receiving end. A booking that only says "Dehradun" or "UPES" is not finished. Before dispatch we need to know where the bike stops, who receives it and whether that place will accept an outside delivery. This page explains the charges, the timing and how to plan the handover. It is written especially for students, families, relocating employees, defence-area receivers and riders sending a bike ahead.

Gurgaon to Dehradun Bike Transport Charges

The bands below are assessed planning ranges for a single two-wheeler moved by road from a Gurgaon address to a Dehradun address. They are not fixed all-in tariffs. We use them to give you a realistic starting point, then confirm the figure once we know the exact model, its condition and both addresses.

Category Example models Assessed band Handling notes
Scooter or small motorcycle Honda Activa 6G or 125, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access 125, Hero Splendor Plus, Hero HF Deluxe, Honda Shine ₹2,500–3,000 Light and easy to wheel. Under-seat storage should be emptied before collection.
Commuter or naked, 150–200cc class Bajaj Pulsar 150 and NS200, TVS Apache RTR 160 and 200, Yamaha FZ-S, Yamaha MT-15, Suzuki Gixxer ₹2,800–3,400 Exposed levers, mirrors and tank need guarding, and some models have wider handlebars.
Cruiser or middle-weight Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Jawa 42, Honda H'ness CB350 ₹3,500–4,200 Heavier to load and strap. Crash guards, saddle stays and backrests change the packing.
Adventure or tourer Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Scram 411, Hero Xpulse 200 4V, KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS ₹3,800–4,600 Taller and longer. Panniers, auxiliary lights and long-travel suspension need extra care when strapping.
Sports or faired Yamaha R15 V4, KTM RC 200 and RC 390, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, Kawasaki Ninja 300, BMW G 310 RR ₹4,000–5,000 Fairing panels and low clip-ons are easily marked, so strapping points are chosen to avoid bodywork.
EV scooter (exact model accepted after checking) Ather 450X and Rizta, Ola S1 range, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V1 ₹3,000–3,800 The model is accepted only after battery condition and any warnings have been declared. Preparation follows the manufacturer's and carrier's procedure.
Large or premium Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, Kawasaki Z650, Kawasaki Z900 ₹6,500–8,500 Weight, width and declared value call for more careful loading, strapping and cover choices.

We place a bike in a category by its size, weight and handling, not by engine capacity alone. A 400-class roadster such as the Triumph Speed 400 or KTM 390 Duke is assessed on its dimensions and fittings. Depending on what it carries, it usually falls between the middle-weight and sports bands, not in the large or premium band. If your model is not listed, send the make, model, year and a photo, and we will tell you which band applies.

What your accepted quote should state

Two quotes for the same bike can differ simply because they cover different work. Before you confirm, check that the written quote says whether each of these is included or charged extra:

What moves the price up or down

The biggest factors are the model's size and weight, fitted accessories, whether the bike runs, how much packing it needs and how easy both ends are to reach. A scooter collected from an open society parking area and delivered to a ground-floor house on a wide road needs less time than a heavy cruiser with panniers in a tight basement going to a PG on a narrow lane. Dates near the start of a college term may also need earlier booking. We do not add arbitrary surcharges or advertise discounts, and the quoted figure reflects the work assessed for your booking.

Worked Example: A Student Scooter Going to a PG Near Bidholi

This is a hypothetical example to show how a quote breaks down. It is not an invoice, a price promise or a record of a past booking. Your own figures will depend on your bike, addresses and the options you choose.

The scenario: a Honda Activa 125 is collected from a society in a Gurgaon sector and delivered to a PG on the Prem Nagar–Bidholi side of Dehradun. The student's friend was meant to receive it, but was in an exam on the first delivery date, so the bike was held for one day.

Line item Included or optional Example amount
Doorstep collection, packing, loading, shared road carriage and delivery to the agreed PG gate Included in the assessed transport charge ₹2,800
Transit cover on the declared value Optional, chosen by the customer ₹250
Smaller vehicle for a narrow final approach Only if assessed as needed; not needed here ₹0
One extra day of holding because the receiver was unavailable Charged only when it happens ₹200
Total before tax Sum of the lines above ₹3,250
Tax As stated on the accepted quote; not included in this example As applicable

The lesson is simple. The transport charge sat inside the scooter band, while the holding charge came entirely from a missed handover that better planning would have avoided. The readiness worksheet further down is designed to prevent exactly that.

Dispatch Window and Delivery Time

The route

Mapping tools show more than one way from Gurgaon to Dehradun, typically about 250 to 280 km. The common options use NH344G and the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway corridor, or NH48 linking to NH344G. The actual distance for your booking depends on where the bike is collected in Gurugram, where it is delivered in Dehradun and the route the carrying vehicle is permitted to take. We do not promise a single fixed corridor for every booking, and road conditions change over time.

How long it takes

A passenger car journey of around four hours on a map is not a freight timeline. Moving a bike involves collection, packing, loading, the main movement and a delivery appointment at the other end. For shared road movement, plan on about one to two working days from the confirmed dispatch. The time from your first call to dispatch depends on your collection date and how loads are consolidated, and the final delivery slot is fixed with the receiver.

Same-day or direct movement is possible only when a separate vehicle has been confirmed for your booking and the Dehradun receiver is ready to take delivery. If your date is fixed, such as a hostel move-in or a joining day, tell us when you ask for the quote so the plan can work backwards from it.

Choosing the Exact Receiving Point in Dehradun

Dehradun sits in the Doon Valley. Most city deliveries are made on ordinary urban roads, and some residential approaches have slopes, tight turns or limited space to stop. Rather than assume anything about a whole area, we plan each address on its own. For every address we check four things:

UPES: Bidholi and Kandoli are different campuses

UPES lists two separate campuses in Dehradun, Bidholi and Kandoli, and both are approached via Prem Nagar. "UPES Dehradun" is therefore an incomplete delivery address. Please tell us:

We have no partnership with the university and cannot promise entry through any campus gate. Before booking, check with campus security or your hostel office whether an outside vehicle delivery is accepted, and confirm that you are allowed to keep a two-wheeler there. Campus office timings are not delivery permission, so do not treat them as delivery slots. If the campus will not accept the delivery, a PG address or a named point outside the gate is usually the practical choice.

Central Dehradun and the Clock Tower area

Addresses around Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) and the central market areas can be busy at certain hours. Stopping right outside your door may not be possible. Give us a nearby landmark where a vehicle can stop lawfully, and plan for the receiver to walk the bike a short distance if needed.

Rajpur Road and Sahastradhara Road homes

Many homes on and off Rajpur Road and Sahastradhara Road are reached by ordinary lanes. Some colonies have inclines or narrow approaches, but not all. Describe the last stretch honestly, and share a map pin and a photo of the entrance if you can. If the transport vehicle cannot safely reach the gate, we agree a handover point on a wider road and the receiver rolls or rides the bike the rest of the way.

Prem Nagar, Sudhowala, Bidholi and Kandoli

This education-side belt has many PGs, rented rooms and hostels. Addresses here are often written loosely, such as "near the college" or "behind the market". Give the PG name, the owner's or warden's number and a map pin. Check that the PG is happy for a bike to be delivered and parked, and that someone will be there to sign.

Clement Town, Ballupur and defence-area addresses

Ballupur and parts of Clement Town include residential colonies where delivery is like any other city address. Cantonment and defence-establishment addresses, including those near IMA or Garhi Cantt, may have their own entry rules. The establishment decides whether an outside delivery vehicle may enter, not us. Ask your unit or office how deliveries are received, whether a gate pass is needed and who may sign, then tell us the agreed handover point. If your office needs particular paperwork for an official claim, tell us what it requires before booking so we can confirm what can be issued.

Dehradun is the endpoint, not Mussoorie or Rishikesh

This page covers delivery within Dehradun. Mussoorie, Rishikesh and destinations farther into the hills are separate endpoints with their own distance, access and receiver arrangements. If you need the bike there, it is a separate quote agreed before dispatch, not something to add after the bike is already on the road.

Many riders prefer to take delivery in Dehradun and ride on themselves. If you are sending a bike ahead for a trip, take delivery, inspect it carefully, check the odometer and keys against the pickup record, and leave yourself time before you start. That way any issue is noticed in town, not on the road.

Student Handover Readiness Worksheet

Most problems on this route come from small gaps in the handover plan, not from the transport itself. Work through these decisions before you confirm your collection date.

Decision Why it matters What to tell us
Campus or accommodation address A campus gate and a PG are different places with different rules The exact campus and gate, or the PG name with a map pin
Room or PG keys If you have not moved in yet, there may be nowhere to park the bike The date you will have access, and a delivery date on or after it
Delivery acceptance Security may refuse an outside vehicle at a gate Whether the hostel, PG or campus has confirmed it will accept the bike
Who keeps the bike keys and documents The bike is no use if the receiver lacks the key or the papers needed to ride it Which keys go with the bike and who keeps the spare key and riding documents
Release from the Gurgaon society or office Some societies and offices need a gate pass or RWA approval before a bike leaves Whether a gate pass is needed and who will sign it on collection day
Who hands over in Gurgaon Students often leave before the bike is collected Name and phone number of the parent, sibling or friend handing over, with an authorisation if needed
Who receives in Dehradun A receiver in class or an exam causes a missed delivery A named receiver and a backup, with their phone numbers and free times
Agreed delivery date Delivering too early can mean holding charges Your preferred date and whether there is any flexibility
Holding or redelivery plan Plans change in the first week of term Whether you want the holding and redelivery terms explained in the quote before dispatch

Who Uses Bike Transport from Gurgaon to Dehradun

Students and their families

Dehradun is home to several universities and colleges, and many students from Gurugram want their own scooter or bike for daily travel. Often a parent hands the bike over in Gurgaon while the student is already in Dehradun, or the other way round. Planning both ends with named people avoids most delays.

Families sending a bike home

Some families send a two-wheeler to parents or relatives already living in Dehradun, or move a spare bike when a household is split between the two cities. These deliveries are usually to an ordinary home, so the main questions are the stopping point, the receiver and the date.

Relocating employees

If you are moving from a Gurgaon job to Dehradun, the bike may be moving separately from your household goods. Time the delivery for when you or a trusted person will be at the new address, and keep the documents you need to ride with you, not inside the bike.

Defence-area receivers

Postings and transfers bring bikes to addresses near cantonment and defence establishments. Arrange the handover point and any gate pass with your unit first, then share the agreed details with us.

Riders sending a bike ahead

Riders who want to start a Garhwal ride fresh sometimes send the bike to Dehradun and travel separately. Take delivery in Dehradun, inspect it calmly and keep any onward plan separate from this booking.

Doorstep Pickup Across Gurgaon and Gurugram

We arrange collection from homes, societies, builder floors, offices and PGs across Gurugram. Common pickup areas include:

Large societies often have their own rules. A gate pass may be needed before a vehicle leaves, the security team may want to see the owner's ID or authorisation, and basements may have height limits for vehicles. Tell us the tower and parking level, and arrange any approval a day ahead. For office parking, check whether the facility team needs notice.

What Our Gurgaon to Dehradun Service Covers

How Bike Shifting from Gurugram to Dehradun Works

  1. Share the details. Send the make, model and year, whether it runs, any accessories, the Gurgaon pickup address, the exact Dehradun address, the receiver's details and your preferred date. Photos help us assess accurately.
  2. Receive a written assessed quote. Check what is included, what is optional and what could be charged extra, such as waiting, holding or redelivery.
  3. Confirm and schedule collection. Read the payment and cancellation terms before confirming, then agree a collection window and arrange any society gate pass.
  4. Collection and condition record. The bike is inspected together with you or your representative. Existing scratches, dents, the odometer reading, keys and accessories are recorded with photos, and you receive the consignment details.
  5. Packing and loading. The bike is packed to suit its model, loaded and strapped.
  6. Road movement. The bike moves to Dehradun within the planning window explained in your quote, and the delivery appointment is fixed with the receiver.
  7. Handover and inspection. The receiver unwraps the bike, checks it against the pickup record and notes anything on the delivery receipt before signing.

Packing and Loading by Bike Type

Packing materials are chosen for the model and confirmed in your quote. Common materials include:

Inside the vehicle, the bike is held upright and strapped at points that suit its frame. Packing protects against scuffs and minor knocks but cannot make any bike immune to damage, which is why the condition record and cover choices matter.

Scooters

Empty the under-seat storage and floorboard hooks. Mention any backrest, crash guard or phone holder. Scooter panels mark easily, so the front apron and side panels get extra attention.

Commuter, naked and sports motorcycles

Levers, mirrors and indicators are the most exposed parts. On faired bikes, straps are kept away from bodywork, and low clip-on handlebars and fairing edges are guarded.

Royal Enfield and heavier motorcycles

Middle-weight and 650-class bikes need more people or proper equipment to load safely. Tell us about crash guards, saddle stays, panniers, top boxes, windscreens and extra lights. Detachable luggage is either packed separately or removed by you before collection, as agreed in the quote.

EV scooters

Tell us the exact model, the battery's condition and any warning lights, swelling, water exposure, accident history or past battery faults before we accept the booking. Preparation follows the manufacturer's guidance and the accepted carrier's procedure, including charge level and any isolation step. Do not remove the battery, open the battery compartment or modify wiring unless the manufacturer specifically instructs it. Pack the portable charger as agreed and keep its cable with it.

Non-running bikes

A bike that does not start can still be moved if it rolls freely, the brakes hold and the steering turns. Declare the problem when asking for a quote, because extra people or equipment may be needed at both ends. We do not diagnose or repair faults as part of transport.

Preparing Your Bike for Collection

Documents: Carriage Paperwork vs Registration in Uttarakhand

For carriage

Keep these ready for collection:

If a friend, parent or colleague hands over or receives the bike, a signed authorisation from the owner with that person's ID helps at both ends. Keep the original documents you need for riding with you or with the receiver, not inside the bike.

For long-term use in Dehradun

Moving a bike is a different matter from registering or taxing it in a new state. If an HR-registered bike will be used in Uttarakhand for a long period, the requirements of the Uttarakhand transport authority apply, and they can depend on your circumstances and current rules. Check with the transport authority or a registering office in Dehradun before deciding what to do. We do not give a blanket rule about NOCs, tax exemption periods or deadlines.

If the bike has a loan

If your RC shows hypothecation to a bank or finance company, check your loan terms before moving the bike, and ask the lender what approval it needs for any later registration change.

Road vs Train for Gurgaon to Dehradun

Both modes can work. The right choice depends on how much of the process you want to handle yourself.

Factor Road transport with doorstep service Railway parcel or luggage booking
Getting the bike to the start Collected from your Gurgaon address You take it to a station that currently accepts bookings for your train
Getting it to the final address Delivered to your Dehradun address or agreed point You collect it from Dehradun station and arrange the local leg
Fuel As instructed in the accepted quote Official guidance requires an empty petrol tank, so you need fuel near the station on arrival
Packing and paperwork Packing and consignment paperwork handled as part of the service You arrange packing and complete the booking formalities at the station
EV scooters Exact model accepted after battery condition is declared Acceptance depends on current railway rules for that model; check before planning
Timing About 1–2 working days after confirmed dispatch for shared movement Depends on the train, space available and your own station visits
How to compare cost One assessed quote covering the agreed scope Rail charges plus packing, both local legs, your time and fuel on arrival

Rail suits people who live near a suitable station, have time for both station visits and are comfortable with the formalities. Road suits people who want the bike collected and delivered, and who need to plan around a hostel date, a joining day or a receiver who is not free all day.

Transit Cover, Condition Records and Claims

Whether you are protected against damage depends on the cover actually issued. Ask which stages it covers (loading, transit, unloading), what value has been declared, what the exclusions are and how to make a claim. Keep a copy of the cover document with your consignment details.

How to Choose a Gurgaon to Dehradun Bike Transport Provider

Whoever you book with, these checks will protect you:

Collection from a showroom or seller

For a newly bought bike going from Gurgaon to Dehradun, speak to the dealer before fixing pickup. Confirm that the bike is ready for release, which documents are available and who at the showroom will sign the collection record. Ask the transport contact to check acceptance of those papers first.

If it is a used bike, explain whether the RC is still in the seller's name and agree the required authorisation. Ask the seller to keep the keys and listed accessories together. Photograph the bike before packing so the Dehradun receiver can distinguish existing marks from a concern during the move.

Keep the sales transaction and ownership paperwork separate from the transport booking. A collection receipt records the handover; it does not complete a registration or ownership transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions: Bike Transport Gurgaon to Dehradun

What are the bike transport charges from Gurgaon to Dehradun?

Our assessed planning bands run from about ₹2,500–3,000 for a scooter or small commuter motorcycle to about ₹6,500–8,500 for a large or premium motorcycle. Commuter 150–200cc bikes, cruisers, adventure tourers, faired sports bikes and EV scooters sit in between, as shown in the price table. These are not fixed all-in tariffs. The final figure depends on the exact model, size, weight, accessories, running condition, packing, pickup and delivery addresses and the scope you accept. The written quote should say whether tax, cover, special handling, waiting and redelivery are included or extra.

How many days does bike transport from Gurgaon to Dehradun take?

For shared road movement, plan on about one to two working days after the confirmed dispatch. Collecting the bike, consolidating the load and fixing the final delivery appointment are separate steps, so the overall window from your first call can be longer. A mapped passenger drive of around four hours is not a freight timeline. Faster direct movement is possible only if a separate vehicle is confirmed and the receiver in Dehradun is ready.

Can you deliver my bike to UPES in Dehradun?

We can plan delivery towards a UPES address once you give the exact details. UPES lists separate Bidholi and Kandoli campuses, both approached via Prem Nagar, so tell us which campus, which gate or hostel, or whether the bike should go to your PG instead. We have no partnership with the university and cannot promise gate entry. Check with campus security or your hostel whether an outside vehicle delivery is accepted and whether you are permitted to keep a two-wheeler there, and name a receiver who will be present.

Can I send a scooty from Gurugram to Dehradun?

Yes. Scooters such as the Activa, Jupiter, Access and similar models fall in our scooter and small motorcycle band of about ₹2,500–3,000, subject to assessment. Remove valuables and loose items from the under-seat storage before collection, tell us about any accessories such as a backrest or phone holder, and confirm the exact Dehradun address and receiver.

Do you transport Royal Enfield and other heavy motorcycles?

Yes, after assessment. Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350 and similar middle-weight bikes are usually in the ₹3,500–4,200 band. Adventure models like the Himalayan 450 are usually ₹3,800–4,600, and 650-class twins such as the Interceptor 650 or Continental GT 650 sit in the large or premium band of ₹6,500–8,500. Crash guards, luggage racks, panniers and extra lights change how the bike is packed and strapped, so mention them when you ask for a quote.

Can you transport an electric scooter from Gurgaon to Dehradun?

We accept EV scooters after checking the exact make and model, and the assessed band is about ₹3,000–3,800. Share the model name, the condition of the battery and any warning lights, damage or past battery faults before acceptance. Preparation, including charge level and any switch or isolation step, should follow the manufacturer's guidance and the accepted carrier's procedure. Do not remove the battery or attempt your own modification unless the manufacturer specifically instructs it.

What documents are needed to send a bike from Gurgaon to Dehradun?

For carriage, keep ready a copy of the RC, current insurance, a photo ID of the owner and, where applicable, a valid PUC certificate. If someone other than the registered owner hands over or receives the bike, a signed authorisation with that person's ID helps. Keep the originals you need for riding with you or with the receiver rather than inside the bike. Carriage paperwork is different from any later registration, tax or ownership work in Uttarakhand.

Will I need an NOC or re-registration for an HR-registered bike in Dehradun?

It depends on how long the bike will be used in Uttarakhand and on current rules there. Moving the bike does not by itself settle any registration or tax question. If you plan long-term use, check the present requirements with the Uttarakhand transport authority or a registering office in Dehradun. If the bike has a loan, confirm with your lender what approval they need for any change. We do not give a blanket rule on NOC or tax exemption periods.

How much petrol should be in the tank at pickup?

Follow the instruction in your accepted quote, which depends on the carrier's procedure for that vehicle. Do not siphon fuel yourself and do not pack fuel bottles with the bike. If you are comparing rail, official railway guidance requires the petrol tank to be empty for parcel or luggage booking, which means you will need fuel near the Dehradun station.

Is it better to send a bike from Gurgaon to Dehradun by train or by road?

Rail can suit people who are comfortable handling booking, packing and station legs themselves. However, acceptance depends on the current station, train and model, the tank must be empty, and you must take the bike to a booking station and collect it from Dehradun station. Road transport with doorstep pickup and delivery usually costs more in direct charges but removes those local legs and paperwork steps. Compare the full cost and effort, not just the headline rate.

Can a friend or family member hand over or receive the bike?

Yes, if you arrange it in advance. Share the name and phone number of the person in Gurgaon and the person in Dehradun, give them a copy of the consignment details, and provide an authorisation with their ID if they are not the owner. The receiver should inspect the bike, check the odometer and keys against the pickup record and note any issue on the delivery receipt before signing.

Do you deliver to Mussoorie or Rishikesh as part of a Dehradun booking?

No, not automatically. This page covers delivery within Dehradun. Mussoorie, Rishikesh and other hill or valley destinations are separate endpoints with their own distance, access and receiver arrangements, so they need their own quote agreed before dispatch. If you plan to ride onwards, take delivery in Dehradun, inspect the bike and leave yourself time before you start the trip.

What should I do if I find damage after delivery?

Inspect the bike before signing, compare it with the condition photos and odometer reading recorded at pickup, and write any visible damage on the delivery receipt. If you notice something later, report it in writing as soon as possible with photos and your consignment details. Whether a claim is accepted and how much is paid depends on the issued cover, its stages, the declared value and its exclusions.

How do payment, cancellation and refunds work?

They depend on the terms in your accepted quote and our terms and conditions. Before you confirm, read when any advance and the balance are due, what happens if you change the date or cancel, and how refunds, if any, are handled. If anything is unclear, ask us to put it in writing before collection.
