Bike Transport Gurgaon to Hyderabad: Hub-to-Hub or Doorstep
Moving a bike or scooter from Gurgaon (Gurugram) to Hyderabad or Secunderabad is a road job of well over 1,500 km, and a quote only means something once both handovers are clear. BikeShift Gurgaon arranges assessed collection, packing, road transport and delivery for one two-wheeler at a time, whether it is a scooty, a daily commuter, a Royal Enfield, a sports bike, a large tourer or an accepted electric scooter.
This page is built around the decision most people actually face: whether a cheaper hub-to-hub booking still works out cheaper once you add the local legs at both ends, or whether doorstep-to-doorstep transport suits your move better. It also covers choosing the receiving point in Hyderabad, who can accept the bike if you are not there, realistic timing, packing by model, EV and non-running checks, documents, railway parcel and what to do if something goes wrong.
Plan your Gurgaon to Hyderabad bike move
Share your model, pickup and delivery areas and preferred date. Confirm the available arrangements and itemised scope before booking.
The Gurgaon to Hyderabad route at a glance
- Road distance: roughly 1,500–1,650 km, depending on the exact pickup and delivery points and the route the carrier is permitted to use.
- Planning time: shared movement usually takes about 5–8 working days after dispatch is confirmed. Collection and consolidation come before that, and the delivery appointment comes after it.
- Two service scopes: hub-to-hub, where you hand over and collect at agreed points, or doorstep-to-doorstep, where collection and delivery happen at accepted access points at your addresses.
- Planning prices: from ₹3,800 hub-to-hub or ₹4,200 doorstep for a scooter, up to ₹9,000 hub-to-hub or ₹11,500 doorstep for a large tourer, confirmed after assessment.
Hub-to-hub or doorstep: compare the terminal price with your real two-endpoint cost
A hub-to-hub quote is the lower number on our rate card, and for some people it is genuinely the better choice. But it prices the movement between two handover points, not the journey from your Gurgaon parking to your Hyderabad flat. Someone still has to take the bike to the agreed loading point on time. Later, someone has to reach the receiving point in Hyderabad with ID, collect the bike and get it home.
Doorstep-to-doorstep transport costs more on paper because both local legs are folded into the booking. Whether that extra is worth paying depends on four things:
- how far you are from the handover points;
- whether the bike can be ridden on those legs;
- whether you will actually be in each city on the right day;
- how much your time is worth in a relocation week.
What each scope actually covers
| Question | Hub-to-hub | Doorstep-to-doorstep |
|---|---|---|
| Gurgaon handover | You bring the bike to a loading point confirmed in your booking. The address, appointment time and handover receipt are agreed before you go. | Collection from an accepted access point at your Gurgaon address, such as a society gate, a basement ramp or a lawful stopping point outside. |
| Hyderabad handover | You or an authorised receiver collect the bike from a receiving point confirmed for your booking, at an agreed appointment. | Delivery to an accepted access point at your Hyderabad or Secunderabad address, within an agreed window. |
| Local legs | Not included unless your quote explicitly says so. | Included within the agreed scope. |
| Building entry | Not applicable. | Not automatic. Entry into a basement, campus or tower depends on that building's rules and is confirmed in advance. |
| Who must be present | You or your representative, at both points, at set times. | You or an authorised person, at both addresses, within the agreed windows. |
| Usually suits | Owners living near the handover points who can ride both legs and attend both appointments. | Job relocations, owners travelling separately, heavy or non-running bikes and tight move dates. |
A worked example with assumed local costs
This is a hypothetical illustration for one daily commuter motorcycle. It uses mid-range figures from our commuter band: ₹4,500 hub-to-hub and ₹5,100 doorstep. The local travel figures are assumptions to show the arithmetic. They are not our tariff, a sample invoice or a past booking.
| Cost element | Hub-to-hub, handover points close by | Hub-to-hub, longer local rides | Hub-to-hub, local vehicle at both ends | Doorstep-to-doorstep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Line-haul quote (assumed mid-range) | ₹4,500 | ₹4,500 | ₹4,500 | ₹5,100 |
| Gurgaon leg (assumed) | Owner rides; cab back ₹150 | Owner rides; cab back ₹350 | Local tempo ₹1,000 | Within scope |
| Hyderabad leg (assumed) | Cab to receiving point ₹200; owner rides home | Cab to receiving point ₹450; owner rides home | Local tempo ₹1,200 | Within scope |
| Illustrative total | ₹4,850 | ₹5,300 | ₹6,700 | ₹5,100 |
| Your time | Two short trips at fixed appointments | Two longer trips, often a good part of a day each | Arranging two extra vehicles and being present for both | You or an authorised person at two address appointments |
Read across the table and the pattern is clear:
- When both handover points are close and you can ride, hub-to-hub saves money: ₹4,850 against ₹5,100 here.
- When the local rides are longer, the saving disappears: ₹5,300.
- If you need a local vehicle at both ends, hub-to-hub becomes the dearer option at ₹6,700. That happens when you cannot ride, the bike is not road-ready or you have already left Gurgaon.
None of these extras is automatically required; they depend on your situation. That is why we price your actual scope instead of leading with the lowest line on the card.
When hub-to-hub genuinely makes sense
- You live close to the confirmed loading point in Gurgaon and can ride there yourself.
- You will already be in Hyderabad when the bike arrives and can take time out to collect it.
- The bike is running and roadworthy, and you are comfortable riding it in unfamiliar city traffic.
- You can work around the receiving appointment rather than needing the bike on a fixed day.
If any of these is uncertain, ask for both scopes in the same quote and compare the totals for your addresses.
Gurgaon to Hyderabad bike transport charges by model and handling category
These are planning ranges for one assessed two-wheeler on this route. They are not fixed, all-inclusive tariffs. The final figure is confirmed once we know the exact model, its condition and fitted accessories, the two addresses and the scope you choose.
| Category | Typical examples | Hub-to-hub | Doorstep-to-doorstep | What usually decides the category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scooter or moped | Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access, Yamaha Fascino, TVS XL100 | ₹3,800–₹4,400 | ₹4,200–₹5,000 | Compact size and light weight. Larger maxi-style scooters may be assessed differently. |
| Daily commuter | Hero Splendor, Honda Shine, Bajaj Platina, Pulsar 125/150, Yamaha FZ | ₹4,200–₹4,900 | ₹4,600–₹5,600 | Standard dimensions with no large accessories or fairings. |
| Sports or naked street | TVS Apache RTR, Pulsar NS200, Yamaha MT-15 and R15, KTM Duke 200/250, Suzuki Gixxer | ₹4,900–₹5,700 | ₹5,400–₹6,600 | Fairings, clip-on bars, delicate paint and strap points that avoid plastic panels. |
| Royal Enfield or cruiser | Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, Meteor 350, Honda CB350, Jawa and Yezdi models | ₹5,400–₹6,400 | ₹5,800–₹7,200 | Higher weight, chrome and exhaust protection, crash guards and the loading effort needed. |
| Large or premium tourer | Royal Enfield 650 twins and Super Meteor, Kawasaki Versys and Ninja 650, larger adventure and imported tourers | ₹7,200–₹9,000 | ₹7,800–₹11,500 | Weight, width with panniers or guards, tall screens, declared value and extra handling. |
| Electric scooter (exact model accepted) | Ather 450 and Rizta, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1, Hero Vida | ₹4,200–₹4,900 | ₹4,600–₹5,600 | Carrier acceptance of the exact model, battery condition, disclosed warnings and the charger record. |
The doorstep column assumes accepted access points at both addresses within the normal service area. The hub-to-hub column covers movement between confirmed handover points only. Some extras are quoted separately when they apply:
- outer endpoints;
- special crating;
- extra waiting time;
- holding a bike that cannot be received;
- redelivery to a second address.
Electric motorcycles are assessed by their size and weight rather than placed automatically in the scooter-sized EV band.
Why weight, width and fitted parts matter more than engine size
Engine displacement is a weak guide to transport effort. What the carrier deals with is the physical bike: how heavy it is to push up a ramp, how much floor space it takes, how many surfaces need protecting and where it can be safely tied down.
- A 155cc maxi-style scooter with a large body can be more awkward than a 125cc commuter.
- A Himalayan 450 or Dominar 400 with crash bars, aluminium panniers and a tall screen may be assessed in the large tourer band rather than with standard 350s.
- The 650cc twins are noticeably heavier and wider than most 350s, which is why they sit with large tourers.
- A faired R15 needs more careful strap placement than a naked bike of similar capacity.
- A few high-value imported motorcycles may need crating, which is quoted separately rather than hidden inside a band.
Telling us the exact model, variant and fitted accessories at the start keeps the quote stable.
What your written quote should state
- The scope: hub-to-hub or doorstep-to-doorstep, with both handover points named.
- The category and the exact model it was assessed on, including declared accessories.
- What packing is included and which items, such as mirrors or a luggage box, will be removed and recorded.
- Whether the line-haul is shared or an exclusive arrangement.
- What is excluded, such as local legs in hub scope, building entry, waiting, holding or redelivery.
- Any cover arranged for the booking and where you will receive its written terms.
- Applicable taxes, the payment schedule and the cancellation terms, read together with our terms and conditions.
What can change the price after the first estimate
- The bike turns out to be a different variant, or carries panniers, crash guards, a top box or a tall screen that wasn't mentioned.
- The bike is not running, has a flat tyre, a locked steering with no key, or accident damage.
- The address is outside the normal area, or access requires a long roll or an additional local vehicle.
- Dates change after dispatch planning, a delivery attempt fails, or the bike has to be held.
- You switch from hub-to-hub to doorstep scope, or the other way round.
Distance, route and transit time: plan around separate milestones
Mapped driving options between the two cities range from roughly 1,530 km to about 1,640 km, and most use the NH44 north–south corridor for much of the way. Your actual distance depends on three things: where in Gurgaon the bike is collected, where in Hyderabad it is delivered, and the route the carrier is permitted to take with a goods vehicle.
A car can drive this route in around a day and a half of driving time, but freight does not work like a passenger trip. A two-wheeler on a shared carrier travels alongside other consignments and follows commercial vehicle schedules. It may also move between vehicles along the way.
For planning, allow about 5–8 working days from confirmed dispatch to arrival in Hyderabad. This is a research-based planning estimate for shared movement, not a guarantee or a record of our past trips. Collection and consolidation before dispatch, and the local delivery appointment after arrival, are separate steps that add to it.
If you need the bike sooner, ask whether a direct or exclusive arrangement is available for your dates, what vehicle it would use and what it would cost. Have it confirmed separately in writing.
Shared line-haul, transfers and local vehicles
Most single-bike bookings on long routes move by shared line-haul. A smaller local vehicle collects the bike in Gurgaon, or you deliver it to the loading point. It may then wait briefly while a long-distance load is consolidated, and travels with other goods on the main leg. Depending on the carrier's network, it may also be transferred between vehicles. In Hyderabad, a local vehicle usually handles the final delivery.
An exclusive end-to-end arrangement means one vehicle dedicated to your consignment from collection to delivery. It is faster and involves fewer handovers, but it costs considerably more and is rarely needed for one bike. Ask which of these applies to your booking so your expectations match how the bike actually moves.
Five milestones worth tracking separately
| Milestone | What it means | What to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Collection | The bike is handed over in Gurgaon and its condition is recorded. | A copy of the condition record and the consignment reference. |
| Consolidation | The bike is waiting to be loaded on the long-distance vehicle. | The expected dispatch date. |
| Confirmed departure | The line-haul has actually left with your bike on board. | Dispatch confirmation. The 5–8 working day planning window starts here. |
| Hyderabad arrival | The bike has reached the city for local delivery or collection. | Appointment options and the name of the local contact. |
| Final handover | The bike is delivered or collected and inspected. | Time to inspect it against the pickup record before signing. |
Updates without overpromising
When you book, ask for a named update channel, such as a phone number or WhatsApp contact, and for a message at each milestone above. That is more useful than a vague promise of live tracking. Expect live GPS only if it is confirmed in writing for your specific booking.
Receiving in Hyderabad or Secunderabad: decide the exact handover point
Hyderabad addresses vary a great deal. A locality name does not tell a delivery team where a vehicle can stop, whether the bike can be rolled in from there, or who will sign for it. Use the guide below to settle these points before dispatch, not on the delivery day. It describes typical situations, not rules that apply to every address.
| Endpoint type | Examples | Decide before dispatch | Timing and cost effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Western work and home corridor | Gachibowli, Kondapur, Madhapur, HITEC City, Nanakramguda, Financial District, Kokapet | Give the exact community, tower and gate number. Find out whether security allows a delivery vehicle inside or the handover happens at the gate. Settle who registers the visit on the society app and where the bike will be parked. | Weekday traffic around tech parks can push appointment windows. If the vehicle must stop outside, the receiver should be ready to roll the bike in. |
| Central established neighbourhoods | Ameerpet, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Banjara Hills, Himayatnagar, Mehdipatnam and older inner lanes | Check whether a delivery vehicle can reach the house, or whether a nearby main road is the practical meeting point. Identify a lawful place to stop briefly, and confirm the bike can be safely rolled from there. | Narrow or busy lanes may mean a main-road handover. Agreeing it early avoids a failed attempt or an unplanned extra local leg. |
| Secunderabad, north and east | Secunderabad, Tarnaka, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Kompally, Uppal, Habsiguda | Give the full address with a clear landmark. Check whether the colony has its own vehicle entry rules, as some defence-administered and gated colonies do. If entry is restricted, agree a public road outside as the handover point. | Entry checks or route changes can lengthen the slot. A clear meeting point avoids repeat visits. |
| Outer and peripheral endpoints | Shamshabad, Tellapur, Patancheru, Medchal, Ghatkesar, Shamirpet, and addresses near or beyond the Outer Ring Road | Confirm whether doorstep scope extends to the address or it is assessed as a separate local leg. Ask which days local delivery runs there. | There may be an extra local distance cost or a different appointment day. Settle it before you accept the quote. |
Hub-to-hub receiving needs the same clarity. Before the bike arrives, have three things ready:
- the confirmed receiving address and appointment;
- the reference and ID you will show;
- a realistic plan for getting the bike from there to where it will be parked.
Collecting in Gurgaon: office parking, society basements and newer sectors
The Gurgaon end needs the same thinking.
- Office parking in DLF Cyber City, Udyog Vihar or Golf Course Road towers: check whether you need a release or gate pass from facilities before the bike can leave, and whether a vehicle can stop at the exit.
- Society basements: visitor approval through the society app, and sometimes a height limit, decide whether collection happens in the basement, at the ramp or at the main gate.
- Newer sectors along Dwarka Expressway, Sohna Road and New Gurgaon: give the exact tower and the gate that opens onto a usable road.
- Older parts of the city: agree a meeting point on a road where a vehicle can stop safely.
Office campus, PG or rented flat: who can actually accept the bike
A workplace name is not a delivery address. Large office campuses in HITEC City, Gachibowli and the Financial District have their own security processes. A security desk will usually not sign for a personal vehicle on an employee's behalf, or let an unregistered bike into staff parking. If you plan to receive the bike at work, confirm all of the following in advance:
- which gate the vehicle should come to;
- who will receive the bike;
- whether you can step out during the delivery window;
- where the bike can be parked.
PG owners, wardens and landlords are in a similar position. Some are happy to help; others do not want responsibility for someone else's vehicle, or have no parking space for it. Never assume.
Whoever receives the bike for you should:
- be named in advance with a working phone number;
- carry ID;
- have your written authorisation, such as a message or a short letter;
- know how keys will be handed over;
- be willing to inspect the bike against the condition record before signing.
Temporary PG now, final flat later
Many people arrive in Hyderabad to a PG, serviced apartment or hotel while they look for a flat. If the bike might arrive before you have a parking spot, decide before dispatch which of these applies:
- delivery to the temporary address, if parking there is available;
- holding the bike for later collection, with the duration and any holding charge agreed;
- redelivery to the final address, quoted as a separate local leg.
Changing the plan after the bike is already in Hyderabad is possible but usually slower and dearer.
Two-address worksheet: link the Gurgaon release to the Hyderabad receipt
Fill this in before you confirm the booking. It catches most of the gaps that cause failed collections, waiting charges and bikes sitting unclaimed.
| Planning item | Gurgaon end | Hyderabad end |
|---|---|---|
| Exact address | Society or office, tower, basement level and the gate that opens onto the road | Community or building, tower, gate and a landmark the local driver will recognise |
| Access approval | Society app approval, office gate pass or parking release | Visitor registration, and permission for the vehicle to enter or stop at the gate |
| Lawful stopping point | Where a collection vehicle can stop while the bike is loaded | Where the delivery vehicle can stop, and how far the bike must be rolled |
| Person at handover | Your name, or the name of the person handing over, with phone and ID | Receiver's name, phone, ID and your written authorisation |
| Keys | Number of keys handed over and recorded | Who receives them, and who keeps the spare |
| Key dates | Last day in your Gurgaon flat and office parking release date | Your arrival date, the day you get room keys and your first workday |
| Fallback | Who hands over the bike if you have to leave early | How you will commute until the bike is ready to ride |
| After arrival | Nothing further once collection is recorded | Parking at the new address, fuel or charging, an insurance check and any registration questions |
If you are flying or taking the train ahead of the bike
Most people relocating from Gurgaon reach Hyderabad well before their bike does. Plan your first week's commute around that, whether by metro, city bus, ride-hailing or a short rental. If you will be travelling or starting work on the likely delivery days, doorstep scope with an authorised receiver is usually easier. Choose hub-to-hub only if you are sure you can attend the receiving appointment.
The bike arriving is not the same as a working bike at your flat
Arrival in Hyderabad is one milestone. Having a bike you can actually ride from your flat is another, and several small steps sit between them:
- the delivery appointment and inspection;
- removing the packing;
- registering the bike for society parking;
- refuelling a low tank, or charging an EV and setting up a charging point;
- checking anything that was disconnected or removed before transport.
Leave a margin of a day or two before you depend on the bike for work.
Packing and loading by model
Packing should match the bike, not follow a fixed number of layers. The aim is threefold: protect painted and plastic surfaces from rubbing, protect levers, mirrors and lights from knocks, and secure the bike to the vehicle so it cannot shift. Straps go on strong structural points, not across panels or fairings. Mirrors and other removable parts are taken off where sensible and listed on the record.
Scooters, mopeds and commuters
The vulnerable parts on scooters are the body panels, front apron, mirrors and floorboard edges. Commuter motorcycles need their tank, side panels, indicators and levers protected. Both are light enough to load easily, but they still need to be secured so the front wheel and handlebar cannot move.
Sports and naked street bikes
Fairings, clip-on handlebars, matte or delicate paint and exposed radiators need extra care. Strap points are chosen to avoid pressing on plastic, and levers and footpegs are protected so they do not rub against other cargo. Tell us about aftermarket exhausts, tail tidies or frame sliders, because they change both how the bike is packed and where it can be secured.
Royal Enfields and cruisers
These bikes are noticeably heavier than commuters, so loading needs a suitable ramp and enough people to control the bike. Chrome tanks, exhausts and crash guards get extra padding, and the bike is secured so its weight is held steadily. If your bike has saddle stays, a backrest or a touring screen, mention it when you ask for the quote.
Large and premium tourers
Wide panniers, tall screens, high handlebars and complex electronics take more space and more handling. Removable luggage boxes are often better taken off and recorded separately. Crating is not needed for most bikes. Where a model or its declared value calls for it, it is quoted as a separate item.
Electric scooters and non-running bikes: acceptance comes first
Electric scooters and EVs
Electric scooter transport starts with acceptance, not packing. Carriers decide which battery-powered vehicles they will take, so before booking, share:
- the exact model and variant;
- whether the battery is fixed or removable;
- any warning lights or error codes;
- any history of accident, water exposure, swelling or battery damage.
Clear disclosure is what allows a booking to be accepted and handled properly.
Preparation follows the manufacturer's guidance for your model and the instructions of the carrier accepted for your booking. Do not open the battery pack, remove a fixed battery or follow generic advice about switches or charge levels found online. Record the portable charger separately on the handover record, or carry it with you, so it does not go missing.
Non-running, damaged or stored bikes
A bike that does not start can usually still be moved after assessment. Tell us what is wrong, whether it is a dead battery, a flat tyre, a missing key, a seized engine or accident damage, and send a few photos. Non-running bikes need more effort at loading and delivery, and may be assessed in a higher category. They also need someone at the receiving end who can move or park the bike afterwards. Working brakes and a free-turning steering make handling much safer, so mention it if either is a problem.
Keys, accessories and charger: record what travels with the bike
Anything not written on the handover record is hard to trace later. Before collection, agree what goes with the bike and what you keep:
- Keys: note how many are handed over. Keep the spare with you.
- Helmet and riding gear: list each item if it is sent with the bike. Under-seat storage on a scooter still needs recording.
- Removable parts: mirrors, top boxes, panniers, tank bags and phone mounts should be listed if removed and packed separately.
- EV charger: record it as its own item, or carry it yourself.
- Documents: keep original papers with you, not in the under-seat box.
- Valuables: do not send cash, jewellery, electronics or other valuables with the bike.
Condition evidence at pickup and delivery
At collection, take a slow walk-around video and clear photos in good light. Cover both sides, the front and rear, the tank and panels, mirrors, levers, lights, tyres and the odometer, plus any warning lights shown when the ignition is switched on. Existing scratches, dents, cracks and missing parts should be noted on the handover record and agreed by both sides. Keep your copy.
At delivery, inspect the bike against that record before you sign. Check the same points, and look under any packing that is still on. Note any difference on the delivery document and photograph it there and then. If something only shows up later, the claims section below explains what to do.
How booking and handover work, step by step
- Request a quote. Send the exact model, variant, condition and fitted accessories, your Gurgaon pickup address or sector, and your Hyderabad or Secunderabad delivery address.
- Compare scopes. Ask for hub-to-hub and doorstep figures together if you are undecided, and check the totals against your own local travel costs.
- Agree the details in writing. Confirm the category, both handover points, what is included and excluded, the cover arrangements, taxes, payment and cancellation terms.
- Prepare access. Arrange society or office approvals at both ends and confirm the receiver if you will not be there.
- Prepare the bike. Follow the carrier's written instructions on fuel or EV preparation, remove loose accessories and keep document copies ready.
- Hand over at collection. Record the condition together, list keys and items, and receive your consignment reference.
- Follow the milestones. Expect consolidation, confirmed departure and arrival in Hyderabad, then book the delivery or collection appointment.
- Receive and inspect. Check the bike against the record before signing, note any issue and keep your copy of the documents.

Road transport or railway bike parcel: a fair comparison
Railway transport is a legitimate option and is sometimes cheaper on the freight charge. It works differently from a road booking, so compare like with like.
There are two separate rail routes:
- Parcel sends the bike on its own.
- Luggage books it to travel on the same train as you, against your ticket.
Either way, confirm with the parcel office whether your station, the train and your model, including electric scooters, are accepted. Official railway guidance requires an empty petrol tank. Ask the station how that is handled rather than draining fuel yourself at home.
| Factor | Road transport booking | Railway parcel or luggage |
|---|---|---|
| Handover points | Your addresses with doorstep scope, or agreed points with hub-to-hub | A Delhi-area station at the start and the Hyderabad-area station named in the booking at the end |
| Fuel | As instructed in writing by the accepted carrier | Empty tank required as per railway guidance |
| Packing | Agreed in the quote and done at handover | Arranged by you or by packers at the station |
| Timing | About 5–8 working days after confirmed dispatch for shared movement | Depends on train, parcel space and the booking type; luggage travels with you |
| Your time | Present, or an authorised person present, at two appointments | Station visits and paperwork at both ends, plus local travel to and from stations |
| Total cost | The quote for the chosen scope | Rail charge plus packing, local travel at both ends and your time |
Rail can suit you if you live near the stations and can attend both. Doorstep road transport suits you better if you need the bike collected from your society and delivered to your Hyderabad address while you get on with the move.
Documents for transport versus registration questions in Telangana
For the transport booking
- A copy of the registration certificate (RC).
- A copy of the current insurance policy.
- A copy of the owner's photo ID.
- A signed authorisation if someone other than the owner is handing over or receiving the bike.
- A PUC certificate copy where applicable.
Keep the originals with you so the bike can be ridden legally once it is delivered. If the bike is on a loan, keep the financier's details handy.
For a longer stay in Hyderabad
Registration and tax are a separate question from transport. If you stay in Telangana for a long period, you may need to deal with:
- re-registration, which usually needs a no-objection certificate from the Haryana registering authority;
- state road tax, which follows its own rules separately from re-registration timing;
- financier approval, if the bike is hypothecated;
- ownership transfer, if you sell the bike there.
Be cautious about general claims that you can ride for a fixed period without any tax or paperwork. The requirements depend on your circumstances and current state rules. Check with the Telangana transport authorities and your Haryana registering authority before deciding. A transport receipt shows when the bike moved. It is not a permit or proof of exemption.
Transit cover, damage and claims
What protection you have depends on the cover actually issued or arranged for your booking, not on general promises. Ask for the written terms and check five points:
- which stages are covered: loading, transit, any storage and delivery;
- the declared value it is based on;
- what it excludes, typically pre-existing damage, mechanical or electrical faults and items not on the record;
- whether there is any excess;
- how a claim is made.
If you see damage at delivery, note it on the delivery document and photograph it before signing. If you discover something later, report it in writing as soon as you can. That might be a crack under the packing, or a fault you only notice once you ride. Include photos, the consignment reference and the pickup condition record.
The pickup record and your own photos are the evidence a claim depends on, which is why the handover matters so much. Claims are assessed against the cover terms and the evidence, so acceptance is not automatic.
How to choose a provider for this route
- Written scope: both handover points are named, and the scope is spelled out as hub-to-hub or doorstep.
- Model-based category: the quote is assessed on your exact model and accessories, not a guess from engine size.
- How the bike moves: you are told whether the line-haul is shared or exclusive, and who handles the local legs.
- Cover in writing: the terms are available before you pay, not described in a phone call.
- Clear charges: taxes, the payment schedule and cancellation terms are stated in the accepted quote.
- Reachable contacts: a phone number and update channel that are answered during the move.
- Realistic claims: be wary of promises of fixed three-day delivery everywhere, guaranteed zero damage or tracking that is never explained.
One practical note: if your employer's relocation policy only reimburses IBA-approved movers, check that requirement first. BikeShift Gurgaon is not IBA approved. You can read more about how we work on our about page, and how we handle your details in our privacy policy.
Common mistakes and sensible ways to save
Mistakes that cost time or money
- Choosing hub-to-hub on price alone, without working out the local legs and appointments at both ends.
- Giving an office campus or a locality name as the delivery address, with no receiver arranged.
- Not telling the person receiving the bike in Hyderabad, so a delivery attempt fails.
- Leaving out crash guards, panniers or a non-running condition when asking for the quote.
- Sending the bike before you have parking at the Hyderabad end, with no holding or redelivery plan.
- Handing over without your own photos, or signing at delivery without inspecting.
- Assuming the transport receipt settles long-term registration or road tax questions.
Sensible ways to save
- Choose hub-to-hub only when you can genuinely ride both short legs and attend both appointments.
- Remove top boxes and other bulky add-ons where practical, and record them separately.
- Give flexible dates so the bike can join a planned dispatch rather than needing a special arrangement.
- Settle access and the receiver in advance, which avoids waiting, holding and redelivery charges.
- Choose a receiving address with an easy, lawful stopping point when you have a choice.

The final quote depends on the exact model, condition, accessories, addresses and scope.
What is the difference between hub-to-hub and doorstep-to-doorstep transport?
Hub-to-hub covers movement between a loading point and a receiving point confirmed in your booking, so you or someone you authorise takes the bike to the Gurgaon handover and collects it in Hyderabad. Doorstep-to-doorstep adds collection and delivery at accepted access points at both addresses, such as a society gate or a lawful stopping point outside. Hub-to-hub is cheaper on paper, but local travel and time at both ends can close the gap, so compare the full cost for your addresses.
How long does bike transport from Gurgaon to Hyderabad take?
For planning, shared movement usually takes about 5–8 working days after dispatch is confirmed. Collection and consolidation before dispatch, and the local delivery appointment after the bike reaches Hyderabad, are separate steps. The road distance is roughly 1,500–1,650 km depending on the exact addresses and carrier route. If you need a faster direct arrangement, ask for it to be confirmed separately with the vehicle and cost.
Can my bike be delivered to my office in HITEC City or Gachibowli?
Only if the office has agreed to it. A workplace name is not a delivery address, and campus security desks usually do not accept personal vehicles on an employee's behalf or allow unregistered bikes into staff parking. If you want office delivery, confirm the gate, the person who will receive it, where it will be parked and whether a delivery vehicle can stop there. A home address with an authorised receiver is usually simpler.
Can a PG owner, friend or colleague receive the bike for me in Hyderabad?
Yes, if they agree and you authorise them in advance. Share their name and phone number before dispatch, and make sure they can show ID, inspect the bike against the condition record and sign for it. Check that a PG owner or landlord is actually willing to take responsibility and has parking. If you will move from a temporary PG to a final flat soon, agree in advance whether the bike is delivered, held or redelivered.
How is a Royal Enfield or heavy cruiser priced and packed for this route?
Most 350cc Royal Enfields and similar cruisers fall in the ₹5,400–₹6,400 hub-to-hub or ₹5,800–₹7,200 doorstep band. They are heavier than commuters, so loading needs a suitable ramp and enough hands, and chrome, exhausts and crash guards get extra padding. Fitted panniers, tall screens or wide guards can move a bike into a higher band, and 650cc twins usually sit in the large tourer category.
Do you transport electric scooters from Gurgaon to Hyderabad?
Accepted electric scooters are priced at ₹4,200–₹4,900 hub-to-hub or ₹4,600–₹5,600 doorstep. Acceptance depends on the exact model and battery condition, so tell us the model and variant, any warning lights or error codes, and any past accident, water exposure or battery damage before booking. Preparation follows the manufacturer's guidance and the accepted carrier's instructions, and the portable charger should be listed separately on the handover record.
Can you move a non-running or damaged bike?
Often, yes, after assessment. Tell us what is wrong, such as a dead battery, a flat tyre, a missing key, a seized engine or accident damage, and share photos. Non-running bikes need more handling at loading and delivery, may move into a higher category and need someone at the receiving end who can move or park the bike. The quote will state what is included.
How much petrol should be left in the tank?
Follow the written instruction from the carrier accepted for your booking, as requirements can differ. Do not siphon or drain fuel yourself, and never send petrol in bottles or cans with the bike. If you choose railway parcel instead, railway guidance requires an empty tank, so ask the station parcel office how that is handled rather than doing it at home.
Which documents are needed to transport a bike from Gurgaon to Hyderabad?
Keep copies of the registration certificate, current insurance and the owner's photo ID ready, plus a signed authorisation if someone other than the owner is handing over or receiving the bike. A PUC copy is useful where applicable. Keep the originals with you so the bike can be ridden legally after delivery, and keep financier details handy if the bike is on a loan.
Do I need to re-register my Haryana bike in Telangana?
It depends on how long you will stay and the rules that apply to your vehicle. Transport documents are separate from long-term registration, road tax, ownership transfer and financier approval. Do not rely on general claims that you can ride for a fixed period without tax or paperwork. Check with the Telangana transport authorities and the Haryana registering authority for your situation before deciding.
Is railway parcel cheaper than road transport for this route?
The rail freight charge can be lower, but compare the full picture. Railway parcel needs station visits at both ends, packing arranged by you or at the station, an empty petrol tank as per railway guidance, and collection from the destination station. Confirm with the parcel office that your station, train and model are accepted. Road transport with doorstep scope costs more but includes both local handovers.
What should I do if I find damage after delivery?
Inspect the bike against the pickup condition record before signing and note any visible issue on the delivery document. If you find something later, for example under the packing or once you ride, report it in writing promptly with photos, the consignment reference and the condition record. How a claim is assessed depends on the cover actually issued for your booking, its exclusions and the evidence, so acceptance is not automatic.
Will I be able to track my bike during transit?
Ask for dispatch confirmation and a named update channel, such as a phone number or WhatsApp, when you book. Updates are most useful at clear milestones: collection, confirmed departure, arrival in Hyderabad and the delivery appointment. Live GPS tracking should only be expected if it is confirmed in writing for your specific booking.
