Bike Transport Gurgaon to Pune: Charges, Timing and a Pune Receiving Plan
Moving from Gurgaon to Pune and sending your bike or scooter separately? For one assessed bike, our planning bands start at ₹4,200–₹5,000 for a scooter or small commuter and go up to ₹11,000–₹15,500 for a large premium motorcycle. The road distance is roughly 1,350–1,500 km, depending on your exact Gurugram sector, your Pune address and the route the carrier is permitted to use. Plan on about 4–7 working days after the bike is actually dispatched. Collection in Gurgaon comes before that, and the final delivery appointment in Pune is fixed after it.
This page explains what moves the price, how to read a quote line by line and how the days really add up. It also covers the part most route pages skip: planning the Pune end so your bike reaches someone who can actually accept it, whether you are joining an office in Hinjawadi, a team in Kharadi or a plant in Chakan.

Bike transport charges from Gurgaon to Pune
Most people want a number first, so here are our current planning bands for this route. Each band is for one bike, handed over at an agreed, lawful access point in Gurgaon and received at an agreed, lawful access point in Pune. We confirm the figure for your bike after we have the model, its condition and both addresses, and it is set out in a written quote. Think of the band as the right budget range rather than a final, all-inclusive price.
Planning bands for one assessed bike
| Category | Typical examples | Planning band | Usually reviewed during assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scooter or small commuter | Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access 125, Hero Splendor, Honda Shine, Hero Glamour | ₹4,200 – ₹5,000 | Boot contents, windscreen or crash guard, condition of the main and side stands |
| 150–200 class street bike | Bajaj Pulsar N160 and NS200, TVS Apache RTR 160/200 4V, Yamaha FZ-S and MT-15, Suzuki Gixxer, KTM Duke 200 | ₹5,200 – ₹6,200 | Mirrors, levers, radiator shrouds, aftermarket exhaust or lighting |
| Cruiser or tourer | Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Himalayan 450, Jawa 42 | ₹6,200 – ₹7,500 | Kerb weight, crash bars, panniers or racks, chrome and painted tank surfaces |
| Sports or full-fairing | Yamaha R15 V4, KTM RC 200 and RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, TVS Apache RR 310 | ₹7,000 – ₹8,500 | Fairing panels, clip-on bars, low ground clearance during loading |
| Accepted electric two-wheeler | Ather 450X and Rizta, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 range | ₹5,500 – ₹6,500 | Acceptance after model and battery details, charger and cables, any warning lights or past water exposure |
| Large or premium motorcycle | Kawasaki Z900, BMW R 1250 GS, Triumph Tiger range, larger Harley-Davidson models | ₹11,000 – ₹15,500 | Weight and size, declared value, accessories and luggage, loading method |
Where your bike sits within a band depends mostly on the details you share. These include:
- weight and accessories;
- whether the bike runs;
- its value and how carefully it needs to be protected;
- how easy it is to collect and deliver at both ends.
Basement, podium or campus entry is not automatic. If the handover point needs special arrangements, we talk about that before you book, not on the day.
Why the model name alone does not settle the category
Engine size is only a rough guide. A few common mix-ups on this route are worth clearing up:
- The KTM Duke range, Yamaha MT-15 and Pulsar NS200 are naked street bikes, not full-fairing machines. Smaller ones normally sit in the street band. A larger naked bike such as the Duke 390, or a Dominar 400, is assessed on its own size, weight and value. It does not automatically go into the fairing band, and it may not fit the 150–200 band either.
- A twin-cylinder 650 is not automatically a "superbike". The Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and Super Meteor 650 are heavier and more valuable than a 350, so we look at them individually. Depending on accessories and declared value, they may land near the top of the cruiser band or between categories. They are not placed in the premium band by default.
- Modifications matter. Tall windscreens, panniers, crash bars, extended mirrors, aftermarket exhausts and auxiliary lights all change how the bike is protected and loaded. Mention them at enquiry stage, not on pickup day.
- Condition matters as much as cc. A non-running bike, a flat tyre, a seized brake or a missing key changes the loading effort, whatever the engine size.
What your written quote should state
Whichever provider you choose, a quote you can rely on separates the following items clearly, or says plainly that a line is included:
- the Gurgaon collection point, including whether it is your basement, the ground level of your tower or the society gate;
- packing materials, and who does the packing;
- loading in Gurgaon and unloading in Pune;
- carriage between the two cities;
- the Pune local leg, meaning doorstep delivery to your address or collection by you from a point that is named in writing;
- applicable tax, shown as its own line;
- the transit cover you chose, if any, with the declared value and who issues it;
- any special work, such as handling a non-running bike, extra protection for a fairing or carrying accessories separately;
- payment terms and when each payment is due, as written in the terms;
- how and by when damage must be reported.
If a line is missing, ask about it before booking. A quote that answers these points takes a few extra minutes to read and saves a lot of argument at the gate in Pune.
Reading two quotes for the same bike: an illustrative example
This is a hypothetical example to show the comparison method. It is not a real invoice, a real customer or our tariff. Suppose you get two written quotes for a Royal Enfield Classic 350 going from a Sector 57 society in Gurgaon to a society in Wakad.
| Quote line | Quote A | Quote B |
|---|---|---|
| Carriage Gurgaon to Pune | ₹6,900 (one combined line) | ₹6,200 |
| Packing | Stated as included in the combined line | ₹500 |
| Loading and unloading | Stated as included | Stated as included |
| Pune local leg to Wakad society gate | Stated as included | ₹400 |
| Subtotal without cover | ₹6,900 | ₹7,100 |
| Optional transit cover | Not mentioned | ₹900 for a declared value written on the quote |
| Subtotal with cover | Unknown until asked | ₹8,000 |
| Applicable tax | Not mentioned | Shown as a separate line |
At first glance, Quote A at ₹6,900 looks ₹1,100 cheaper than Quote B's ₹8,000. Compared on the same scope without cover, the gap is only ₹200 (₹7,100 minus ₹6,900).
Before deciding, ask Quote A three things:
- whether tax is extra;
- whether cover can be arranged, and on what terms and premium;
- whether the local leg really means your Wakad gate, or a point you must collect from.
Then add the tax figure each quote states. This gives you a fair comparison. It is not a judgement that one style of quote is honest and the other is not.
Distance, route and realistic timing
Why the distance changes with your endpoints
Mapping tools show several driving options between Gurgaon and Pune. Depending on how the expressway and national highway sections are combined, they come out at roughly 1,348 km, 1,473 km and 1,479 km. Your own figure shifts with your start and end points:
- a pickup in New Gurgaon or along Sohna Road starts differently from one in DLF Phase 2;
- a delivery in Talegaon ends differently from one in Hadapsar.
A goods vehicle also follows the routes it is permitted and scheduled to use, which may not be the route your phone suggests for a car. For budgeting, a planning range of about 1,350–1,500 km is sensible.
How the working days actually run
Our planning figure of about 4–7 working days starts once the bike is dispatched, not when you first call. The full sequence usually looks like this:
- Enquiry and assessment. You share the model, condition, both addresses and your dates. We confirm the category and scope in writing.
- Collection in Gurgaon. On the agreed date, the bike is inspected, its condition is recorded with you, and it is packed and handed over against a consignment note.
- Dispatch. Collection day is not automatically dispatch day, because a collected bike may wait for its scheduled loading. Ask for the dispatch date in writing so you know when the 4–7 working days begin.
- Line haul. The consignment travels towards Pune. Weather, highway conditions, checks and the loading sequence can all move the timing within or beyond the planning window.
- Arrival in the Pune region. The local delivery is then arranged.
- Doorstep appointment and delivery. A slot is agreed with you or your receiver, and the bike is unpacked and inspected at the agreed point.
If you have a hard date, such as joining day or the day your Gurgaon lease ends, mention it at the start. It is far easier to plan backwards from a fixed date than to rush the last step.
Reaching Pune is not the same as reaching your gate
Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad together form a large, spread-out metro area. A bike that has "reached Pune" may still be a local trip away from your society in Wagholi, Talegaon or Katraj. The final appointment depends on several things:
- local vehicle availability;
- your society's entry rules;
- whether your receiver is free at that time;
- whether the address you gave is the address where the bike can actually be handed over.
The next two sections are about making that last step simple.
Collection in Gurgaon and Gurugram
Details that make the pickup work
Gurugram has every kind of pickup point: high-rise societies on Golf Course Extension Road and Dwarka Expressway, gated townships off Sohna Road, older independent houses in Sectors 14, 15 and 23, Palam Vihar and Sushant Lok, and PG blocks around Cyber City and Udyog Vihar. To plan your collection properly, send:
- the sector, society name, tower and the gate the vehicle should use;
- where the bike is parked: open parking, stilt, podium or basement level, and whether the ramp is steep or tight;
- whether the bike starts and can be ridden or pushed to a ground-level handover point;
- the society's visitor or commercial vehicle entry process, such as a pre-approved entry in the society app or a call to security;
- a time window when you, or someone you trust, will be present.
Collection from inside a basement is something we assess, not something we assume. If the collection vehicle cannot safely or lawfully enter, the practical answer is usually that you ride or push the bike to ground level at the agreed time. Knowing this in advance avoids a wasted morning.
Manesar, IMT and company accommodation
Many people on this route are auto-sector engineers moving from the Manesar and IMT belt to the Chakan, Talegaon or Bhosari clusters near Pune. If you live in company quarters or a hostel, check with the admin or security team whether an outside vehicle can come in to collect a personal bike, and at what times. If not, agree a collection point outside the gate. Sharing that permission or plan with us before booking keeps the slot realistic.
Your Pune receiving plan, area by area
"Pune" or "Hinjawadi" on a quote is not a delivery address. Each part of the city has its own access questions, and the receiving plan is where most avoidable delays start. Here is what is worth sorting out for each area before you book.
Hinjawadi phases and the west IT corridor
Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi is spread over several phases. Within a phase, the actual building and gate matter. Even official addresses here are written with that precision. For example, the published address of the STPI office in Pune is Plot P1, Phase 1, Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, MIDC, Hinjawadi. A delivery plan needs the same level of detail.
The more important question is whether the bike should go to your office at all. An office address tells us where you work. It does not mean the campus will let a delivery vehicle in, or that anyone there can sign for your personal bike. Please do not assume your employer's reception or security will accept it. In most cases a residential address is the better plan.
The neighbourhoods around the park are not interchangeable either. Wakad, Punawale, Tathawade, Marunji and Maan are different places with different approach roads. A society in Maan near Phase 3 is not the same local trip as one near the Wakad flyover. Give the actual society, wing, gate and a landmark rather than "near Hinjawadi".
Baner, Balewadi, Aundh and Pashan
These areas have many large societies with podium or basement parking, sloping driveways and fixed hours for visitor vehicles. Some also front busy main roads where a vehicle cannot stop for long. Tell us:
- which gate to use;
- whether a goods vehicle may enter, and between which hours;
- where the bike can be unloaded without blocking traffic.
If entry is not allowed, a handover at the main gate at an agreed time is usually the simplest plan, and you ride the bike in yourself.
Kharadi, Viman Nagar and the east side
Kharadi mixes large office towers with big residential townships, often on the same stretch of road. As with Hinjawadi, give your residential gate, not your office address, unless the office has confirmed in writing that it will accept the bike and named who may receive it.
- Viman Nagar and Kalyani Nagar: many older buildings have limited parking.
- Mundhwa and Keshav Nagar: newer societies come with their own entry procedures.
- Hadapsar, Magarpatta and Wagholi: these are farther out. The local leg to them is assessed for your exact location rather than taken for granted.
Sharing a map pin of the gate saves a surprising amount of time on delivery day.
PCMC and the industrial belt: Chakan, Talegaon and Bhosari
If you are joining a plant in Chakan, Talegaon or Bhosari MIDC, the plant name is rarely the right delivery address. Plant gates typically have security, contractor and visitor rules, and a personal two-wheeler delivery may not be permitted. Most joiners actually live somewhere else: Moshi, Ravet, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Akurdi, Pimple Saudagar or Talegaon town.
What we need is the address where you will be living, a named receiver, and any gate permission or appointment timing that applies there. If you are in company accommodation or a guest house, ask the admin team whether a bike can be handed over and when. Some outer locations need a separate local plan, so we confirm coverage and the local leg for your address in the quote. We do not assume every location is covered or add a fixed area surcharge.
Kothrud, Deccan, the Peths and south Pune
Older parts of the city, such as Sadashiv, Narayan and Shaniwar Peth, the lanes around Deccan and Shivajinagar, and pockets of Kothrud, often have narrow access and no parking inside the building. Farther south, around Swargate, Katraj, Kondhwa and NIBM Road, it is a mix of old lanes and new societies.
Here the useful questions are practical:
- where can the vehicle lawfully stop to unload;
- where can the bike be rolled off and unpacked;
- is there a covered spot to inspect it if it is raining?
A handover at the nearest wider road, with you riding the last few hundred metres, is often the cleanest plan.
Receiving decision table
| Your situation | What to send us | How it can change the quote or slot | Practical fallback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Joining a Hinjawadi or Kharadi office, flat not yet fixed | A temporary address (serviced apartment, hotel or a friend's society) and a named receiver | The local leg and appointment are fixed once the address is confirmed. Holding, if needed, is discussed on its own terms. | Time the dispatch for after you have a flat, or deliver to a friend's address with their consent |
| Flat in Wakad, Punawale, Tathawade, Marunji or Maan | Society, wing, gate, landmark, map pin and parking rules | The correct local leg is planned from the start, so the bike is not rerouted on the day | Main-gate handover at an agreed time |
| You want delivery at your office campus | Written permission from admin or security and the name of the person allowed to receive | May not be possible. Many campuses do not accept personal vehicle deliveries. | Residence or a trusted receiver's address |
| Large township in Kharadi, Magarpatta or Viman Nagar | The gate to use, the visitor vehicle process and allowed hours | The slot is set around gate timings | Handover outside the main gate |
| Outer address such as Wagholi or Talegaon town | Exact address and map pin | The local leg is assessed for that address and shown in the quote | An agreed nearby handover point, only if it is named in writing |
| Joining a Chakan, Talegaon or Bhosari plant | Your residential address in Moshi, Ravet, Chinchwad or similar, not the plant name | The local leg is based on where you live. Any company gate permission is confirmed first. | Delivery on a weekly off, or to a receiver at home |
| Old-city lane in the Peths, Deccan or Kothrud | The nearest lawful unloading point and where the bike will be kept | The handover may be at a wider road rather than the doorstep | Unpack at the unloading point and ride the bike home |
| Basement or podium parking at the Pune end | Level, ramp details and any height limits | Vehicle entry is not automatic and is confirmed during assessment | Ground-level handover, then you ride it down |
Fitting the bike into your own move
When you and the bike travel separately
Most people on this route fly or take the train while the bike goes by road, so the two timelines need to meet. Before booking, tell us:
- Your own travel date to Pune. If the bike could arrive before you, someone else has to receive it, or the dispatch should be timed later.
- Where the bike will be parked. Many PGs and shared flats have little or no two-wheeler parking. Check before giving that address.
- Your keys and room access. If you are moving into a new flat, make sure you, or your receiver, can get in and park on delivery day.
- Your working hours. IT shifts, plant shifts and training schedules in the first weeks can be unpredictable. Give realistic availability windows, including weekends if that is easier.
- Your last day in Gurgaon. The collection has to happen while you, or someone you trust, are still there to hand over the bike and sign the condition record.
Authorised receiver and backup
Name one person in Pune who can receive the bike, and a backup. Each should be someone who:
- knows the exact address;
- carries a government photo ID;
- has a copy of the consignment note;
- understands that they should inspect the bike before signing.
A colleague, flatmate or relative is fine, as long as you have agreed it with them beforehand. If you would rather receive the bike yourself, say so, and ask whether holding until your arrival is possible for your consignment and on what terms. Do not assume storage is available or free.
Pre-booking worksheet
Send these details in one message and your quote will be faster and more accurate:
- Make, model, year and registration number; whether it is petrol or electric; whether it runs.
- Accessories fitted: crash guard, panniers, top box, windscreen, aftermarket parts.
- Gurgaon pickup: sector, society, tower, parking level, gate process, preferred date and time window.
- Pune delivery: full address with phase or gate, map pin, parking rules, and the receiver's name and number.
- Your travel date and any fixed deadline.
- Whether you want optional transit cover, and the value you would declare.
- Anything unusual: a scratch you want recorded, a weak battery, a missing key, a loan on the bike.
On move day, keep the RC, ID and insurance copies, the bike keys and the consignment note in one envelope or one folder on your phone.
Model-sensitive preparation and protection
Packing should match the bike, not follow one recipe for everything. We describe below what usually needs attention for each type. The method used for your bike is agreed at assessment and recorded. No packing makes a bike scratch-proof or waterproof, but the right preparation sharply reduces the usual problems.
Scooters and small commuters
Empty the under-seat boot completely, because loose helmets, chargers and documents are common causes of rattling and lost items. Fold the mirrors or remove them if they unscrew easily, and note them on the consignment note. Make sure the main stand works properly. Front aprons, floorboards and plastic side panels are the parts to protect.
Naked street bikes
On bikes like the Duke, MT-15, NS200 and Apache RTR, the exposed parts are the mirrors, the clutch and brake levers, the radiator and its shrouds, the headlamp assembly and the tank. Point out any aftermarket levers, bar-end mirrors or tail tidies, because these stick out further than the stock parts.
Full-fairing sports bikes
Fairing panels on bikes like the R15, RC series and Ninja 300 crack under concentrated pressure. Straps should go on structural points, not across the bodywork. The low ground clearance and clip-on bars also need care during loading. Tell us about any existing cracks or loose fasteners so they are recorded at collection.
Cruisers, Royal Enfields and twin-cylinder tourers
These are heavy. A Classic 350 or Himalayan 450 weighs well above a commuter, and a 650 twin is heavier still. Loading needs enough hands and a sensible method. Chrome exhausts, engine fins and painted tanks need protection. Crash bars, racks and panniers either stay fitted and are protected, or are removed, packed and listed. Decide which before pickup day.
Electric scooters and motorcycles
An electric two-wheeler is accepted after we review the exact model and battery details. Please:
- tell us whether the battery is fixed or designed to be removable, and follow the manufacturer's guidance and the carrier's instructions on charge level;
- report any warning lights, swelling, unusual smells or past water exposure before booking;
- do not open the battery, disconnect components or change electrical settings yourself;
- pack the portable charger and cables separately and list them on the consignment note.
If anything about the battery is uncertain, we would rather know at enquiry stage than find out at the gate.
Non-running, restored or modified bikes
Tell us at enquiry if the bike does not start, has flat tyres, has a seized brake or chain, or has no key. These bikes can often be moved, but loading takes more effort, and that may change the category or add a special-work line to the quote. For restored or rare bikes, list original parts that need extra care and declare a realistic value if you choose cover.
Rain, moisture and handover in the monsoon
Pune's monsoon brings steady rain for weeks, and Gurgaon has its own heavy spells. A bike wrapped while wet can trap moisture under the packing for days. Dry the bike before it is packed, and pick a sheltered collection spot such as a stilt parking area or a covered porch. At the Pune end, try to unpack and inspect under cover too. If it is pouring at the agreed time, a short wait is better than inspecting in the rain and missing a scratch.
Handover and delivery checklist
At collection in Gurgaon
- Walk around the bike with the collection team and agree the condition notes. Take your own photos and a short video, including the odometer.
- Check that the consignment note shows your name, both addresses, the model, the registration number and, if you chose cover, the declared value.
- Record how many keys are handed over and how many you keep.
- List any removed parts (mirrors, top box, phone holder, windscreen) and where they are packed.
- Leave fuel low, as the carrier instructs, and remove loose items and documents from the boot.
- Keep a copy of the consignment note and the contact numbers for follow-up.
At delivery in Pune
- Inspect the bike before signing, ideally in daylight or good light and under cover.
- Compare the odometer with the reading recorded at collection.
- Check that every listed part and key is there.
- If you see damage, describe it specifically on the delivery copy, for example "scratch on left side panel, crack on front fairing", and photograph it before the team leaves.
- Do not sign "received in good condition" if it is not.
- Keep the packing material for a few days if you have noted any damage.
If you find damage later
Some damage only shows once you start riding, such as a bent lever or a loose panel. If that happens:
- Report it in writing as soon as you can, within the reporting window in the terms, quoting the consignment number.
- Attach clear photos or a video, along with your collection photos for comparison.
- Keep the affected parts and, if possible, the packing material.
We will explain the next steps under the terms and any cover that applies. Concealed damage is harder to establish later, which is why the careful inspection at delivery matters so much.
Road transport, railway parcel or riding it yourself
There is no single right answer. It depends on your budget, your time and how much running around you are happy to do. Here is a fair comparison for this route.
| What matters | Road transport | Railway parcel or luggage | Riding it yourself |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where you hand over and collect | At agreed points in Gurgaon and Pune, usually close to your door | At the booking station in the Delhi region and the destination station in Pune | You leave from home and arrive at home |
| Packing | Done as part of the agreed scope | Proper packing is required. You arrange it or pay for it at the station. | Not needed |
| Timing | About 4–7 working days after dispatch, plus collection and local delivery | Depends on train, booking type and available space | Typically two or three long riding days |
| Your effort | Mostly coordination and inspection | Two station trips, paperwork, packing and collection at the parcel office | The whole ride, in heat or rain, plus stops and servicing |
| Electric two-wheelers | Accepted after model and battery assessment | Check acceptance and conditions with the railway when booking | Limited by range and charging availability on the way |
| Cost picture | Usually the higher cash cost, covering door-to-door handling | The freight can be lower, but add packing, station travel and time off work | Fuel, tolls, food, stays and wear on the bike |
Railway. Indian Railways distinguishes between sending a two-wheeler as a parcel and carrying it as luggage on the same train you travel on. Luggage depends on space being available on that train. The railway's own guidance asks for copies of the RC and a government ID, proper packing and an empty fuel tank. Practically, you also need to get the bike to a station in the Delhi region, which is a trip of its own from Gurgaon, and then collect it from the Pune station and ride it home. Rules and charges change, so confirm them with the railway when you book.
Riding. Roughly 1,400 km is a serious ride on a commuter or a 350, often in summer heat or monsoon rain. Experienced touring riders enjoy it. If you plan to ride, get the bike serviced first, check your own insurance and break the trip sensibly.
Road transport suits people who are starting a new job, cannot spare the days, or would rather spend their energy on the house move than on a station queue.
Documents: what transport needs and what is a separate question
Papers for the consignment
For the move itself, keep these ready:
- a copy of the RC;
- a copy of a government photo ID;
- a copy of the bike's current insurance.
Originals stay with you unless you are told otherwise in writing. If a family member or colleague is booking or handing over the bike for you, a short authorisation letter from the registered owner avoids confusion at collection.
Loans and hypothecation
If the bike is on a loan, the RC will show the lender. Check whether your lender wants to be told before the bike leaves Haryana, and whether they will need to be involved if you later change the registration.
Long stay in Maharashtra: registration and road tax
This is a separate question from transport. Whether you need to re-register the bike in Maharashtra, pay road tax there, claim a refund in Haryana or get an NOC depends on how long you will stay, the vehicle and the rules in force at the time. The transport consignment note records the movement of the bike. It is not a registration or tax document. Please confirm your situation with the Haryana and Maharashtra RTOs and your lender, if there is one. We do not advise on any fixed tax-free period.
Transit cover: what to read before you choose
BikeShift Gurgaon is not IBA approved, and we do not claim to be. Where optional transit cover is available, it is a separate choice with its own document. Before dispatch, read:
- who issues the cover;
- what is covered and what is excluded;
- how the declared value works;
- how and by when damage must be reported.
Declare a realistic value. Too low limits what a claim can recover, and too high does not help either. What any claim pays depends on those issued terms and on the reporting steps being followed, so treat cover as a safeguard with conditions, not a promise of payment. It is also worth asking your own bike insurer whether your policy covers the vehicle while it is being transported.
Comparing providers and keeping the cost sensible
Questions worth asking any provider
- Is this a written quote for my exact model, condition and both addresses?
- Does the price mean doorstep delivery at my Pune address, or collection from a named point?
- Which lines are included, and which are shown separately, such as tax, cover and special work?
- When will the bike actually be dispatched after collection?
- Who do I contact during transit, and how is the Pune appointment fixed?
- What is the reporting window for damage, and what does the cover document say?
- What are the payment terms, as written in the terms and conditions?
Ways to save without cutting protection
- Be flexible on dates where you can. A fixed same-week deadline leaves fewer options.
- Send accurate details once. Correcting the model, address or condition on pickup day usually costs time and sometimes money.
- Agree a ground-level handover at both ends if the basement or podium is awkward.
- Deliver to your residence, not your office. It is simpler and avoids a failed attempt.
- Remove and pack small accessories yourself before collection, and list them.
- Do not skimp on fairing or chrome protection to save a few hundred rupees. Repairs cost far more.

Frequently asked questions about bike transport from Gurgaon to Pune
How much does bike transport from Gurgaon to Pune cost?
For one assessed bike, our planning bands are ₹4,200–₹5,000 for a scooter or small commuter, ₹5,200–₹6,200 for a 150–200 class street bike, ₹6,200–₹7,500 for a cruiser or tourer, ₹7,000–₹8,500 for a sports or full-fairing bike, ₹5,500–₹6,500 for an accepted electric two-wheeler and ₹11,000–₹15,500 for a large or premium motorcycle. The final figure depends on the exact model, weight, accessories, condition, declared value, both addresses and the scope you choose, and it is confirmed in the written quote.
Is the planning band an all-inclusive price?
No. The band is a planning estimate for doorstep handover at an agreed, lawful access point in Gurgaon and Pune. Your written quote lists what is included, such as packing, loading, carriage, unloading and the local legs, and shows applicable tax, any chosen transit cover and any special work separately where they apply. Basement, podium or campus entry is confirmed during assessment rather than assumed.
How many days does a bike take from Gurgaon to Pune?
Plan on about 4–7 working days after the bike is actually dispatched. Collection in Gurgaon happens before that and may not be the same day as dispatch, and the doorstep appointment in Pune is fixed after the consignment reaches the Pune region. Ask for the dispatch date in writing and treat the overall window as a planning figure rather than a guaranteed delivery date.
What is the road distance from Gurgaon to Pune?
Mapping tools show several driving options of roughly 1,350–1,500 km between the two cities, depending on the route taken and the exact start and end points. A car drive is roughly 25–31 hours behind the wheel, but that is not a transport delivery time, because collection, consolidation, loading sequence and the Pune local leg all add time.
Can the bike be delivered to my office in Hinjawadi or Kharadi?
Only if the campus administration or security confirms in writing that they will let the vehicle in and that a named person may receive a personal bike. Many campuses do not accept personal deliveries, and an office address does not mean your employer can sign for your vehicle. A residence, serviced apartment or a trusted receiver's address is usually the more reliable choice.
I am joining a plant in Chakan or Talegaon. Should I give the plant address?
Usually not. Give the address where you will actually live, for example in Moshi, Ravet, Chinchwad or Talegaon town, with a named receiver and a phone number. Plant gates often have security and contractor rules that do not allow a personal vehicle delivery. If you are in company accommodation, confirm with the admin team whether a bike can be handed over there and at what time.
Is my KTM Duke, MT-15 or NS200 priced as a sports bike?
Not automatically. The Duke range, MT-15 and Pulsar NS200 are naked street bikes, not full-fairing machines. Smaller ones usually sit in the 150–200 class street band, while a larger naked bike such as the Duke 390 is assessed on its size, weight, value and accessories. Similarly, a twin-cylinder 650 like the Interceptor is assessed individually and is not automatically placed in the premium band.
Can you transport an electric scooter from Gurgaon to Pune?
An electric two-wheeler is accepted after we review the exact model, battery details, charge level guidance from the manufacturer, charger and any warning lights or past water exposure. Please do not open the battery or disconnect components yourself. Pack the charger and cables separately and list them on the consignment note. If anything about the battery is unusual, tell us before booking.
What happens if my bike reaches Pune before I do?
Tell us your own travel date before booking, so dispatch can be timed sensibly. If the bike still arrives first, delivery needs an authorised receiver with ID and a backup person, or another plan agreed in advance. Ask whether holding is possible for your consignment and on what terms, rather than assuming storage is free or available.
Is railway parcel cheaper than road transport?
It can be, but compare the full effort. Indian Railways separates parcel booking from luggage carried on the same train as the passenger, and luggage depends on available space. Rail usually needs RC and government ID copies, proper packing and an empty tank, plus two station legs: getting the bike to a Delhi station and collecting it in Pune. Check the current rules and charges with the railway when you book.
What documents do I need to transport my bike?
Keep copies of the RC, a government photo ID and the bike's insurance ready, and keep the originals with you unless told otherwise in writing. If someone else is booking or handing over the bike, an authorisation letter from the registered owner helps. If the bike is on a loan, check whether your lender wants to be informed before it leaves Haryana.
Can I keep riding my HR-registered bike in Pune?
Transport papers only cover the movement of the bike. Whether you need to re-register, pay road tax in Maharashtra or get an NOC depends on how long you stay, the vehicle and the rules in force, and loan bikes add lender questions. Please confirm with the Haryana and Maharashtra RTOs and your lender. We do not advise on any fixed tax-free period.
Is the bike insured during transit? Are you IBA approved?
BikeShift Gurgaon is not IBA approved. Optional transit cover may be offered where available, and what it pays depends on the issued terms, exclusions, the declared value and whether reporting steps are followed. Read the document before dispatch and declare a realistic value. Your own bike insurance may or may not cover the vehicle while it is being transported, so check with your insurer.
What should I do if I find damage after delivery?
Inspect the bike before signing and write any damage clearly on the delivery copy with photos. If you notice something later, report it in writing as soon as possible within the window stated in the terms, with photos, the consignment number and the original packing if you still have it. Keep any removed parts. We will explain the next steps under the cover or terms that apply.
