Bike Transport Gurgaon to Lucknow: Charges, Timing and Handover
Moving a bike or scooty from Gurugram to Lucknow sounds simple on paper. It is roughly a day's drive, the expressways are good, and plenty of carriers run the corridor. Where moves tend to go wrong is at the two ends. The bike is stuck behind an office parking barrier in Cyber City. It reaches a Lucknow address where nobody has the room keys yet. Or it is booked to a campus that turns out to be in a different city.
This page is written for people who are actually making this move. You might be an employee on transfer, an officer taking up a government posting, a student joining a Lucknow institute, a family returning home, or a rider who simply wants a Royal Enfield or an Activa waiting at the new address. It covers what bike transport from Gurgaon to Lucknow realistically costs by model, how long it takes after dispatch, and how packing changes for different bikes. Most of all, it explains how to plan the handover so the bike is released cleanly in Gurgaon and received by the right person in Lucknow.
Plan your Gurgaon to Lucknow bike move
Share your model, pickup and delivery areas and preferred date. Confirm the available arrangements and itemised scope before booking.
The Gurgaon to Lucknow move at a glance
| Planning point | What to expect | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| Road distance | Roughly 525–560 km city to city | Exact pickup and drop points, and the route the carrier is permitted to use |
| Transit after dispatch | About 2–4 working days as a planning estimate | Shared or direct arrangement, local transfers, weather and the delivery appointment |
| Planning price, one bike | ₹2,800 to ₹5,500 across six model bands; large premium bikes assessed separately | Model weight, width, accessories, value, condition and the scope written into the quote |
| Who it suits | Transfers, postings, students, families and riders who do not want to ride the distance | How much time you have, and whether someone can receive the bike in Lucknow |
Gurgaon to Lucknow bike transport charges by model
The table below gives planning ranges in Indian rupees for one bike, once its model and condition have been assessed. These are not fixed all-in prices. They are a realistic starting point so you can budget before you ask for a written quote. The final figure depends on exactly what is being moved and what the job includes.
| Category | Example models | Planning range (one assessed bike) | What usually moves the quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scooters | Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino | ₹2,800 – ₹3,200 | Front panel and floorboard protection, under-seat items, any aftermarket guards |
| Commuter motorcycles | Hero Splendor Plus, HF Deluxe, Honda Shine, Bajaj Platina | ₹3,000 – ₹3,500 | Tank and lever protection, carriers or crash guards, collection access |
| Mid-size and performance | Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR, Yamaha FZ-S, Yamaha MT-15, KTM Duke 200 | ₹3,400 – ₹4,000 | Visors, fairing edges, wider tyres, extra care on paint and lights |
| Cruisers and heavier roadsters | Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Jawa 42 | ₹4,000 – ₹4,800 | Weight, chrome and exhaust protection, crash guards, saddle stays, loading help |
| Mid-size adventure and tourers | Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, Bajaj Dominar 400 | ₹4,500 – ₹5,500 | Height, tall screens, panniers and racks, long-travel suspension, width across handguards |
| Electric scooters (once accepted) | Ather 450 series, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 range | ₹3,500 – ₹4,200 | Carrier acceptance of the exact model, manufacturer handling requirements, display and charger protection |
| Large premium and imported motorcycles | 650cc-and-above twins with heavy accessories, litre-class sports, touring and adventure bikes | Quoted after the exact model is assessed | Weight, declared value, fairings and electronics, loading method, cover and any direct arrangement |
Why the model matters more than the engine size
Engine capacity is a rough shortcut, but it is not what a carrier is really pricing. A 350cc Royal Enfield and a 390cc KTM sit in different bands because they behave differently when they are being loaded and strapped. One is heavy and low with chrome to protect. The other is tall and narrow with a screen, long-travel forks and often a rack.
What genuinely changes the work is the bike's weight and width, its accessories (crash guards, panniers, tank bags, phone mounts, auxiliary lights), its value, and whether it rolls, steers and brakes properly. A tidy commuter bike with no add-ons is quick to wrap and secure. The same bike with a heavy aftermarket guard and a luggage rack needs more protection and more space. When you enquire, describe the bike as it is now, accessories included, and the quote will be far closer to what you finally pay.
What a written quote should list
A useful Gurgaon to Lucknow bike transport quote shows the parts of the job separately, so you can see what you are paying for:
- The Gurgaon collection leg, from your society, office parking or agreed pickup point
- Packing suited to the model
- Loading and securing
- Carriage to Lucknow, shared or direct
- Unloading and the Lucknow delivery leg to the agreed access point
- Any applicable tax, as shown on the quote
- The transit cover you choose, based on the value you declare
- Any special handling, holding or redelivery, but only if you need it and agree to it
Not every move needs the last three items, and you should not be charged for extras you did not ask for. If something is not on the written quote, ask about it before you confirm the booking rather than at the gate in Lucknow.
Large premium and imported motorcycles
Bigger and more valuable machines are deliberately left out of the planning bands. A litre-class touring bike, a heavily accessorised 650 twin or an imported adventure bike can need different loading, more space, more careful strapping and higher declared-value cover. Some owners also prefer a direct arrangement rather than a shared departure. Share the exact model, the year, the accessories fitted and a few current photos, and we will assess it and quote in writing. A guessed figure here would be misleading in either direction.
A worked budget, using a hypothetical move
To show how a quote comes together, here is a clearly hypothetical example. It is not an invoice and not a past booking. Imagine a Honda Shine collected from a society in Sector 56, Gurgaon, and delivered to a tower gate in Gomti Nagar Extension. The bike has a crash guard and a rear luggage rack, and travels on a shared departure.
| Line | What it covers | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|---|
| Core move (commuter band) | Collection in Gurgaon, standard packing, loading, shared carriage, unloading, delivery to the society gate | ₹3,250 |
| Optional extra protection | Additional padding for the aftermarket crash guard and rack | ₹250 |
| Optional transit cover | Cover chosen by the owner; the real figure depends on declared value and the policy issued | ₹200 |
| Subtotal before tax | ₹3,250 + ₹250 + ₹200 | ₹3,700 |
| Applicable tax | As shown on the accepted written quote | As quoted |
Two things are left out on purpose. Holding and redelivery would only appear if the receiver could not be available and you agreed an alternative before departure. A direct arrangement would replace the shared carriage line with a separate, higher figure. The point of the example is simple: every rupee should map to a piece of work you can see on paper.
Route distance and realistic timing
Depending on the exact start and end points, the road distance between Gurugram and Lucknow is roughly 525 to 560 km. One common way is via the Ganga Expressway corridor. Another goes via the Yamuna Expressway and the Agra–Lucknow Expressway. A third uses NH 509 combined with expressway sections. The route a goods carrier actually takes depends on what it is permitted to use and where it is collecting and delivering, so treat these as city-to-city references rather than a fixed path.
Why the car drive time is not the bike's arrival time
A car can do the run in roughly 7 to 9 hours. A transported bike will not arrive the evening after collection simply because the drive is short. Collection, packing and consolidation can take place before dispatch. The long-distance leg follows, and then the bike has to be unloaded and scheduled for final delivery.
As a planning estimate, allow about 2 to 4 working days after dispatch is confirmed. The final delivery appointment in Lucknow is fixed separately, once the bike is close. If you need a firmer timeline, a direct arrangement is the way to discuss it.
Fog, rain and other plan changes
North Indian winters can bring dense fog in the early hours, and heavy monsoon rain can slow road traffic. Both can shift a departure or delivery by a day or so. It is sensible to leave a small buffer around your joining date rather than plan the delivery for the morning you start work. If conditions change, the delivery appointment is reset with you directly.
Releasing the bike in Gurgaon
The Gurgaon end is where many moves lose a day. A bike parked in an office complex, a high-rise basement or a gated society cannot simply be wheeled out. Someone has to allow it to leave.
Society basements and office parking
If the bike is in a society in DLF Phase 1 to 5, Golf Course Extension Road, Sohna Road or the New Gurgaon sectors, check three things:
- How visitor or service vehicles are let in
- Whether a gate pass is needed for a vehicle leaving the premises
- Which path leads from the basement to the surface
Some basements have tight ramps or height-restricted entries where a collection vehicle cannot go, so the bike may need to be ridden or rolled up to an agreed point at ground level. For office parking in Cyber City, Udyog Vihar or Manesar, ask facilities or security how they release a private two-wheeler. They will usually need advance notice and the owner's details. Sort this out before the collection day, not while the pickup team is waiting at the barrier.
When someone else hands over the bike
If you have already left for Lucknow and a friend or colleague is handing the bike over, give them three things:
- A signed authorisation from you
- A copy of your ID
- The keys, plus copies of the bike's papers
Tell us their name and number in advance. They should be there for the condition check and should sign the collection record in your name, so there is no dispute about the bike's condition later.
Your Lucknow joining address is not automatically your receiver
This is the single most common planning gap on this route. A posting letter or offer letter gives you an office address in Lucknow, and it feels natural to use that as the delivery address. But an office reception or a security post is not an authorised receiver. Staff there may refuse a two-wheeler, or accept it without checking it and with nowhere secure to keep it.
The same applies to a new flat or PG where you do not yet have the keys, or a guest house where you are staying only until your accommodation is ready.
Before booking, decide three things:
- Where the bike will physically be kept in Lucknow
- Who will receive it, by name and phone number
- When that person is available
If your room keys will only be handed over after you arrive, set the delivery window after that date. If nobody can receive it in the first few days, agree an alternative receiver, holding, or a planned redelivery in writing before the bike leaves Gurgaon. Any of these may change the scope and cost, which is exactly why they belong on the quote.
Choosing the receiving point in Lucknow
Doorstep bike delivery in Lucknow means delivery to an agreed, lawful access point that the delivery vehicle can reach. That is usually a society gate, a building entrance or the road outside a house. It does not automatically include every basement, inner campus road or narrow lane. The table below covers the questions that matter in different parts of the city, what each answer changes, and a fallback if access does not work on the day.
| Type of Lucknow address | Question to answer before booking | How it affects scope, cost or time | Fallback if access fails |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gomti Nagar and Vibhuti Khand houses, offices and sectors | Is it a house, a flat or an office building? Which khand and sector? Who receives on weekends when offices are shut? | Office deliveries may need a weekday slot and a named receiver; a house address is usually simpler | Deliver to a named person at an agreed nearby gate or residence |
| Gomti Nagar Extension and Shaheed Path towers | Which tower and gate? Does the society need a visitor entry or vehicle registration? Surface parking or basement? | Gate procedures can affect the appointment time; basement delivery may not be possible | Handover at the main gate with the receiver present, then ride or roll it in |
| Hazratganj, Chowk and Aminabad older market areas | Where can the delivery vehicle lawfully stop? How far is it from there to the house, and is the path rollable? | Busy lanes may mean a nearby stopping point and a short roll; timing may need care | Agreed handover at the nearest accessible road with the receiver waiting |
| Alambagh and Amausi | Is it a residential colony or a commercial address near the main roads or airport side? What is the exact pin code? | A precise pin and landmark avoids the delivery being sent to the wrong side of a large area | Confirm a landmark meeting point by phone before the vehicle sets off |
| Aliganj, Jankipuram and IIM Road | Is it a colony address or inside a campus? If campus, which gate allows private vehicles, and who is authorised to receive? | Campus rules decide whether delivery is at the gate or inside; a hostel may not have a receiver yet | Deliver to the permitted gate to a named receiver, or to an agreed off-campus address |
| Outer townships and growth corridors (for example Sushant Golf City, Sultanpur Road, Kursi Road, Faizabad Road) | What is the exact pin code and location pin? Is the road to the gate finished and accessible? | Distance from the city and road access are assessed; this can change the delivery leg | An agreed handover at the township entrance or a nearby main road |
A location pin sent over WhatsApp, together with the full written address, saves a surprising amount of back-and-forth on delivery day.
Joining IIM Lucknow or another campus: check the city first
Institute names can be misleading on this route. IIM Lucknow's own contact directory lists two campuses. The main Lucknow campus is at Prabandh Nagar, off IIM Road, in Lucknow. The other is a separate campus in Sector 62, Noida, close to Delhi NCR. Students joining a programme run at the Noida campus do not need a Gurgaon to Lucknow move at all. Booking one by mistake wastes money and time. Other organisations with offices in both NCR and Lucknow can cause the same confusion.
Before you book, confirm four things from your joining letter or the institute itself:
- Which city and which campus you are actually joining.
- Which gate allows private two-wheelers, and whether a bike delivered by a transporter will be let in.
- Whether your hostel room or PG will be available on the delivery date.
- Who can receive the bike for you if you are in orientation or classes during the delivery window.
We are not affiliated with any institute, and campus entry is decided by the campus, not by us. The most reliable plan is a named receiver at a permitted gate or a nearby address you control.
The move-week worksheet
A short road trip does not mean the bike arrives the same day you do. Use this worksheet to line up both ends before you confirm.
| Item | Gurgaon side | Lucknow side |
|---|---|---|
| Release | Gate pass or office parking release arranged; basement path checked | Society or campus entry for the delivery confirmed |
| Dispatch | Collection date agreed; shared departure confirmed in writing | Planning window of about 2–4 working days after dispatch noted |
| Your own travel | Train or flight date, and whether you will be present at collection | Your first working day and when you will be free to receive |
| Keys and access | Bike keys handed over and recorded | Room or flat keys in hand before the delivery date |
| Receiver | Authorised person for handover, if not you | Named receiver, phone number and availability window |
| Backup plan | Agreed before departure, not after | Alternative receiver, holding or redelivery, with scope and cost on the quote |
Packing that matches your model
Good packing is less about the number of layers and more about protecting the parts that actually get damaged on a particular bike. The approach should be explained to you at collection.
Scooters and commuter motorcycles
For a scooty parcel from Gurgaon to Lucknow, the vulnerable parts are the front apron, side panels, floorboard edges, mirrors and the instrument cluster. Commuter motorcycles need the tank, levers, mirrors and indicator stalks protected, and the side panels cushioned where straps and neighbouring bikes might rub. Under-seat storage on a scooter should be emptied unless an item has been agreed and listed.
Royal Enfield, cruisers and heavier roadsters
For Royal Enfield or cruiser transport, the challenge is weight as much as finish. Chrome, painted tanks, exhausts and engine cases need padding. Crash guards and saddle stays can press into nearby bikes if they are not wrapped. Loading a heavier bike safely may need more hands. Matte and dark finishes show scuffs easily, so tell us about them at enquiry.
Adventure and touring bikes
Bikes such as the Himalayan 450 or KTM 390 Adventure are tall and often carry screens, handguards, racks and panniers. Panniers are usually best removed and packed separately or kept by you. Tall screens and handguards need protection against contact. Long-travel suspension also affects how the bike is held down: over-compressing the forks is not good practice, so securing points are chosen with that in mind.
Performance and faired bikes
On bikes with fairings, sharp edges and clip-on bars, the risks are cracked plastic, scratched visors and bent levers. Fairings are padded at contact points, and straps are kept off painted panels.
Strap points and fragile parts
Whatever the model, straps should go on strong frame or fork points suited to that bike, never across painted panels, cables or brake lines. Mirrors are folded, removed or wrapped. Indicators, number plate holders and display screens are padded. If your bike has fragile aftermarket parts, such as auxiliary lights, a phone mount or a tail tidy, point them out at collection so they can be removed or noted.
Electric scooters and non-running bikes
Electric scooters
EV transport from Gurgaon to Lucknow is possible, but only after the carrier has accepted your exact model. Handling then follows the manufacturer's and the carrier's requirements. There is no universal routine. Battery charge levels, isolation steps and whether anything should be removed differ by make and model, and should only be done by authorised hands where the manufacturer requires it.
At enquiry, share the make, model and variant, the battery type if you know it, and whether the charger and any accessories are travelling. The charger, keys or key card should be recorded on the condition sheet. Do not attempt to remove or modify the battery yourself.
Non-running bikes
A bike that does not start can still be moved, but it must be declared at enquiry. What matters is whether it rolls, whether the steering turns freely, and whether the brakes hold. A non-runner with seized brakes or a locked steering needs more effort to load and may need a different method, and that is reflected in the quote. Flat tyres and missing keys should also be mentioned up front.
Preparing the bike before collection
- Clean it. A reasonably clean bike makes existing scratches and dents visible during the condition check.
- Take your own photos. In daylight, photograph all sides, the odometer reading and any existing marks. Keep them on your phone.
- Keep fuel low. Follow the written instruction for your booking. Do not drain fuel yourself into bottles, and never send spare fuel with the bike.
- Remove loose accessories. Phone mounts, tank bags, bungee cords, action camera mounts and panniers are safer with you.
- Empty storage. Under-seat boxes and top boxes should be empty unless an item has been agreed and listed.
- Gather the keys. Hand over all keys needed for the bike, and record how many were given.
- Arrange the release. Society gate pass, basement access or office parking release, done a day ahead.
Paperwork: what the move needs and what comes later
For the transport itself
For collection, keep these ready:
- Copies of the RC (registration certificate)
- Current insurance
- The owner's ID
- A PUC certificate, where applicable
- An authorisation letter, if someone other than the owner is handing over or receiving
Hand over copies, not originals. Keep the originals with you, because you will need them to ride the bike once it reaches Lucknow.
Registration, tax and finance in Uttar Pradesh
Moving the bike and keeping it in Uttar Pradesh long term are separate matters. Whether you will need to re-register a Haryana-registered bike in Uttar Pradesh, pay road tax there, or get an NOC from the Haryana side depends on how long you stay and your own circumstances. A bike on a loan may also need your lender's consent before registration is moved.
Rules and procedures change, so check the current position with the Uttar Pradesh transport department or your RTO, and speak to your financier if the bike is under hypothecation. A transporter can move the bike; it cannot settle these questions for you.
How booking works, step by step
- Enquire with details. Share the Gurgaon pickup sector or address, the exact Lucknow address with pin code, the bike's make, model and condition, any accessories, and your preferred dates, through the quote form or by phone.
- Get a written quote. It should list the collection, packing, loading, carriage, unloading and delivery, plus any applicable tax and the cover and special handling you choose.
- Plan both ends. Confirm the Gurgaon release, the Lucknow receiver and access, and any backup arrangement.
- Confirm the booking. Payment, cancellation and changes follow the accepted booking and our terms and conditions.
- Collection and condition record. The bike is checked with you or your authorised person. Existing marks, the odometer reading, keys and any accepted accessories are recorded, with photos, before packing.
- Packing and loading. The bike is packed to suit its model and loaded for the collection leg.
- Dispatch and updates. You are told when dispatch is confirmed, which is when the planning window starts.
- Delivery appointment. As the bike approaches Lucknow, the delivery time and access point are confirmed with the receiver.
- Inspection and handover. The receiver checks the bike against the collection record before signing.
Road carrier, railway parcel or riding yourself
Each option suits a different person. Here is a fair comparison.
| Factor | Door-to-door road transport | Railway parcel | Riding it yourself |
|---|---|---|---|
| Handover | Collected from your Gurgaon address or an agreed point | You take the bike to a station parcel office that books it | No handover |
| Lucknow end | Delivered to an agreed access point | You collect it from the Lucknow station | You arrive with it |
| Packing | Done for you, to suit the model | As required by the railway; check what is needed | None needed |
| Fuel | Low, per the written booking instruction | Empty petrol tank, as per railway guidance | Your own refuelling |
| Electric scooters | Once the exact model is accepted | Check acceptance with the railway for your model and train | Depends on range and charging along the way |
| Cost and effort | Higher cost, least effort | Often lower cost, more of your own time at both stations | No transport fee, but a long ride and your own expenses |
Railway parcel. Parcel booking and accompanied luggage are different services. Acceptance depends on the station, the train and the bike, so confirm with the railway before you plan around it. It can make sense if you live near a station that handles such bookings and have time at both ends.
Riding. Riding 525–560 km is a full day in the saddle. If you choose it, plan your route on roads where two-wheelers are permitted. Do not assume a car's expressway route is open to bikes: check the current rules and signage for each stretch. Plan breaks, avoid riding in dense winter fog, and carry the original RC, insurance, PUC and your licence.
Delivery checks and damage found later
At delivery, the receiver should check the bike before signing anything:
- Walk around the bike and compare it with the collection photos.
- Check the odometer against the recorded reading.
- Check that the mirrors, levers, lights and indicators are intact.
- Make sure every key and any listed accessory is returned.
If something is wrong, note it on the delivery record and photograph it straight away.
Sometimes damage only shows up later, for example after packing is removed at home or on the first ride. Report it promptly with photos rather than waiting.
Transit cover, if you choose it, depends on the policy actually issued. That includes which stages of the move it covers, the value you declared and its exclusions. Nobody can promise a payout in advance. A clear collection record and prompt reporting give any genuine claim the best footing. How your details are handled during booking is set out in our privacy policy.
Choosing a provider and saving money sensibly
What to check before you book anyone
- A written, itemised quote, rather than a single verbal number
- Who will actually carry the bike, and whether the move is shared or direct
- The terms of any cover offered, and how the value you declare affects it
- How the bike's condition is recorded at collection
- What "doorstep" means for your Lucknow address
- Cancellation and change terms in writing
You can read how we work on our about page.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Be flexible. A flexible collection date makes it easier to fit a shared departure.
- Choose an easy handover point. Surface parking or a main gate, rather than a deep basement, saves time.
- Strip the bike. Removing panniers and loose accessories reduces packing work.
- Describe it accurately. An honest description avoids a re-quote at collection.
- Sort the receiver early. A confirmed receiver means you do not pay for holding or redelivery.
Common mistakes on this route
- Using an office address in Lucknow as the delivery point with no named receiver.
- Booking a Lucknow delivery for an institute or organisation whose relevant campus is actually in NCR.
- Expecting the bike the day after collection because the drive is short.
- Forgetting the society gate pass or office parking release in Gurgaon.
- Handing over original documents instead of copies.
- Leaving accessories, documents or valuables on the bike.
- Signing the delivery record before checking the bike.

Frequently asked questions about bike transport from Gurgaon to Lucknow
What are the bike transport charges from Gurgaon to Lucknow?
Planning ranges for one assessed bike are ₹2,800–3,200 for a scooter, ₹3,000–3,500 for a commuter motorcycle, ₹3,400–4,000 for a mid-size or performance bike, ₹4,000–4,800 for a cruiser such as a Royal Enfield 350, ₹4,500–5,500 for a mid-size adventure or touring bike, and ₹3,500–4,200 for an electric scooter that has been accepted for transport. Large premium or imported motorcycles are quoted only after the exact model is assessed. These are planning ranges, not fixed all-in prices. Your written quote should show the local legs, packing, loading, carriage, unloading, delivery and any applicable tax, cover or special handling.
How many days does Gurgaon to Lucknow bike transport take?
As a planning estimate, allow about 2–4 working days after dispatch is confirmed. Collection and consolidation for a shared departure can happen before that, and the final delivery appointment in Lucknow is fixed separately. The 7–9 hour car drive is not a freight arrival time. A direct or urgent arrangement is possible only when it is specifically arranged and priced in writing.
Is the quoted price all-inclusive?
Treat the price bands as planning figures. The written quote is what counts, and it should list each part of the job: Gurgaon collection, packing, loading, carriage, unloading and Lucknow delivery, plus any applicable tax, the cover you choose and any special handling, holding or redelivery. If something is not written on the quote, ask before you confirm.
What is the difference between a shared departure and a direct arrangement?
In a shared arrangement your bike travels with other consignments, which usually keeps the cost within the planning bands but means the departure date depends on when the load is confirmed, and there may be local transfers at each end. A direct arrangement moves your bike without waiting for other bookings. It can be faster and simpler, but it costs more and has to be specifically arranged and priced.
Will the bike be delivered to my doorstep anywhere in Lucknow?
Doorstep delivery means an agreed, lawful access point that the delivery vehicle can reach, such as a society gate, building entrance or roadside outside the house. It does not automatically mean a basement, an inner campus road or a narrow market lane. Share the exact Lucknow address with pin code, gate details and the receiver's number so the access can be assessed before you book.
Can someone else hand over the bike in Gurgaon or receive it in Lucknow?
Yes, if this is arranged beforehand. Give the name and phone number of the person, a signed authorisation from the owner and a copy of the owner's ID. The receiver in Lucknow should be available for the agreed window and willing to inspect the bike and sign the delivery record. An office reception or society guard is not an authorised receiver unless they have agreed to it.
Which documents are needed to transport a bike from Gurgaon to Lucknow?
Keep copies of the RC, current insurance and the owner's ID ready, plus an authorisation letter if someone else is handing over or receiving, and a PUC certificate where applicable. Hand over copies, not originals. Keep the originals with you, because you will need them to ride the bike in Lucknow.
How much fuel should be left in the bike?
Keep fuel low and follow the written instruction given for your booking. Do not drain fuel yourself into bottles or carry spare fuel with the bike. Railway parcel guidance asks for an empty petrol tank, so the instruction can differ depending on how the bike travels.
Can an electric scooter be sent from Gurgaon to Lucknow?
An EV is transported only after the exact model is accepted by the carrier, and handling follows the manufacturer's and carrier's requirements. There is no single battery percentage or switch routine that applies to every electric scooter. Tell us the make, model, battery type and charger details at enquiry, and keep the charger and any keys recorded on the condition sheet.
Can you move a Royal Enfield, adventure bike or non-running bike?
Yes, after assessment. Weight, width, crash guards, panniers, tall screens and the bike's value affect packing and loading more than engine capacity does. A non-running bike must be declared at enquiry, with details of whether it rolls, steers and brakes, because that changes how it is loaded and what it costs.
Can I send my helmet or luggage with the bike?
Ask before booking. If an item such as a helmet or bike cover is accepted, it should be listed on the condition record at collection. Do not leave cash, documents, valuables, liquids or household luggage on the bike.
Is railway parcel cheaper than road transport from Gurgaon to Lucknow?
It can be, depending on the station, train and your own time. Railway parcel and accompanied luggage are different bookings, and acceptance depends on the station, train and model, so check with the railway before you plan around it. You will also need to take the bike to the station, pack it as required, empty the tank as per railway guidance and collect it at the Lucknow end. Door-to-door road transport costs more but removes those legs.
Can I ride my Haryana-registered bike in Lucknow after the move?
Transport acceptance and long-term registration are separate questions. Whether and when you need to re-register in Uttar Pradesh, pay road tax or obtain an NOC depends on how long you stay and your circumstances, and a financed bike may need your lender's consent. Check the current position with the Uttar Pradesh transport department or your RTO and your financier rather than relying on a general rule.
What should I do if I find damage at delivery or later?
Inspect the bike at delivery against the collection photos and odometer reading, note any issue on the delivery record and photograph it. If you find damage later, for example after removing packing at home, report it promptly with photos. Whether a claim is paid depends on the cover actually issued, the stage at which damage happened, the declared value and the policy's exclusions.
